    Good stuff Noel.
Small typo on Milky Way family - it is 702 and as you said finished with 90's performer Little Rufus
Captain Sandy's Rosebud family brings up nothing in NZ either

    Great Bloodlines
Looking through the early Interdominion winners pedigrees, we find that Dans Son, the 1937 Interdominion winner for Ben Coram, has a direct descendent in the trotter Sparkling Success, winner of the recent Empire VicBred 4yo trot for trainer John Meade and driver Gavin Lang.
Sparkling Success is a direct descendent of Lady Edna, the dam of Dans Son, family of Fair Nell A13

Thanks to the team at Classic Families including John Peck, we can see:
    http://www.classicfamilies.net/Horse...rseID=10025975

There are 9 mares between Lady Edna and Diamond Insitu the dam of Sparkling Suess, and 108 years since Lady Edna was foaled in 1908.

The family also produced Interdom pacing winner Bold David and Interdom trotting consolation winners Downsouth Clare and Game Ebony.

Lady Edna herself was a great racehorse:

Angelique 1958 (back to the A's)
3rd in the very first 1967 Miracle Mile and the only starter whose owners refused the offers for their horse to go overseas.
She won the 1962 Vic Oaks and ran second to Minuteman in the 1964 Interdominion

    Avian Again x Worthy Staveley

Worthy Stavely is a strong arm of N1 family

    http://classicfamilies.net/CF/Descen...rseID=10021669

Angelique produced the top performer Gallagher (Ballarat, Bendigo and Cranbourne Cups + more)
Her full sister Alexandra produced the excellent trotter Amazon
while her half sister Madelaine produced Vic Derby winner Rhett

I am glad to report that Angelique lives on
She is the 4th dam to Heirloom Angel 2012
who has only had 2 starts as a 2yo last season for a win and a third

She has not been sighted this season as a 3yo but she is bred and owned by the Rothackers so if anyone knows where she is at - please post and let us know. I don't remember it at the time but Harnesslink did a story on Heirloom Angel after her win last year

    http://www.harnesslink.com/News/Roth...irloom%20angel

There were numerous other leads I researched for this arm of N1 (including in the US) but the only other ones I found that are still going around are

Sheezawingate who went around at Horsham last week and has Worthy Staveley as her 6th dam
Im Over Nova who has 3 young foals yet to race and has Worthy Staveley as her 6th dam

These three young mares hold the future of the Worthy Staveley/Angelique line

    Arapaho 1967

Amongst his many victories Arapaho won both the Gp1 Auckland Cup and Gp1 NZ Cup in 1973

    Bachelor Hanover x Dusky Bay

Dusky Bay only produced 4 foals and her line soon died out
The line of Arapaho's 2nd dam University has completely died out too

Arapaho's 3rd dam Adverse and Jacks Queen - the 4th dam of 1986 Aus 2yo of the Yr Paavo are full sisters, both being from Mustapha by Jack Potts

2001 WA Oaks winner Miss Electra also shares Mustapha with Arapaho as her 5th dam is also Jacks Queen

If we go back 100yrs to the origins of family N75 we see that Arapaho's 4th dam and the 6th dam of 1993 Interdominion winner Jack Morris are half sisters

HRA research suggests the recent Miss Electra's line of this family is falling away so it would seem that not only has the Arapaho line not bred on but the whole of family N75 is grinding to a halt

Even good trotting broodmare Bunty's Daughter pretty much produced nothing but colts

In fact I think 6yo mare Koten Blosem Lombo who was still racing in May, along with a sister of Miss Electra are possibly the only lifelines for the family N75

Bay Foyle 1966 (going back no earlier than the 60's - hoping some may have heard of them)

Winner of the 1971 NZ FFA and the 1972 Miracle Mile

    Goose Bay x Glen Foyle

Bay Foyle did sire a few and through his daughter Flying Bay you can find his name in the bottom half of the pedigrees of good trotters Africa, Daenerys Targaryen, Pocaro, Missandei and Springbank Sam

    http://classicfamilies.net/CF/Descen...rseID=10001411

His dam Glen Foyle's arm of N7 is not a strong one but it is just hanging in there through the mare
Quick Shot 2002 who won 6 of 121 starts in QLD and has had 3 foals this decade. Glen Foyle is the 5th dam of Quick Shot

    Danno's favourite

    Bold Biami 1968

Amongst his numerous wins (esp as a juvenile) we have a QLD and a NSW derby

    Stormyway x Brown Lulu

Basically Bold Biami was a one off freak for the family A295 (the only other performer at all is Take A Punt 1982 who won a couple of nice 3yo races)

Sadly Danno this family has been and gone

    Bold David 1963

Winner of the 1970 Inter-Dominion. Although he thrived in the longer races he also ran 2nd behind Lucky Creed in that years Miracle Mile just a few weeks later

    Bold Brigade x Girl David

I will keep this one short - his line quickly died out but Little Edna, a half sister of his 3rd dam, has kept family A13 alive with its Trotters

Most of the trotters listed here descend to Little Edna

    Bon Adios 1961

Vic Derby and Hunter Cup winner plus a 3rd in the 1970 Inter behind Bold David

    Golden Adios x Bonny Frisco

As a sire he produced foals over 18 season (1 while he was still racing) with his largest crop numbering 47
Copper Satin a twice Gp1 winner would have to be his best
A couple of his sons sired a few but none proved successful

His dam had only one other foal and although his half sister was given ample opportunity to continue the line she produced 10 colts in row - none of whom amounted to anything
His 2nd dam had only one other filly Toy Rose and her line has survived in Tasmania with Karalata Crown being one of its successes

Bon Adios's family N44 is notable especially for champion Broodmares
One I would like to highlight is Pat Hanover NZ 1972
    Her foals include
Vicky Hanover - Australian Broodmare of the Year
Miss Clevedon - NZ Broodmare of the Year
Miss Ardmore - NZ GN Oaks winner
Miss Burnside - 2nd dam of Carpenters Daughter

    Cardigan Bay 1962

The immortal who won absolutely everything, see link

    http://classicfamilies.net/CF/Histor...ntClass&AD=ASC

    Hal Tryax x Colwyn Bay

To see if Cardigan Bay's line has bred on, I decided to begin with his 2nd dam Pleasure Bay and I went to HRA and began clicking on all her fillies and their fillies .....
This line is so prolific and with so many, many fillies I started to think every horse descended from Pleasure Bay!
Tiring of opening hundreds of progeny pages and facing many more I decided to instead go to family N18 on ClassicFamilies and work backwards ie check the Tail Lines for all the stars listed for this family
It turns out that EVERY performer in family N18 does descend from Pleasure Bay and so Cardigan Bay's line has certainly bred on. Check out the following link

    http://classicfamilies.net/CF/Family...milyNumber=n18

You will see recent performers Spanish Armada, Franco Nelson, Chancellor Cullen, Glenferrie Hood, Cheer The Lady, .........

    Dainty's Daugher 1963

A great mare who was inducted into WA's Hall of Fame in 2010, see link for her listed racing performances

    http://classicfamilies.net/CF/Histor...rseID=10004422

Dainty's Devil was the best of her own progeny winning 18 of 90 starts
But it is her first born Double Dainty who produced Double Wipe (the excellent Victorian 3yo) and it is this arm that still sees the line to the fore at Gloucester Park through La Mia Juliette 2011 (Dainty's Daughter is her 4th dam)
LMJ won the Gp1 WA Sales Classic for 2yo fillies in 2014 and last won at GP just a couple of months ago

They all belong to U309 and Dainty's Daughter's 2nd dam is the 5th dam of our Katie's (KTQ) Three Bears
