Menangle tonight - it is not even considered amazing that 2yo's are running 1.53.8 (more than one tonight)
It is how they are coming home in 26.3, 26.7 (in heats where they don't have to do anything more than not finish last)
    Unreal

A 5 horse 2yo Maiden at Shep tonight, with Craig Rail going for the 3 first starters - a Hunstville, a Betting Line and a Sweet Lou
We know that sometimes the experienced horse pops up in these encounters and of the two the 1 cannot beat the 4 going on their last start clash
As for the 4 - Sporty Philtra, she hasn't really got close (<10m) since her first start so I think Craig has probably got it right going for the 3 colts

Perfect In Pink goes around again at Kilmore next Tuesday
Her opposition is mostly first starters with some very well bred types amongst them
No.1 Liberty Crest is a ½ sis to Our Golden Goddess
No.5 Alfs Girl is a ½ sis to Yianni and Ideal Dan

Cheeky Eagle going around in the next at Cobram is impeccably bred - a Bettors Delight half bro to Fly Like An Eagle and Mach Doro
He has been in Tassie for his first 5 starts and yet supposedly trained by Alex Ashwood all that time (I never understand the satellite stable set ups - surely the interstate foreman is first and foremost training the horse)

Major Celebrity the close relation to Ride High that we expected to go for much more at the sales than he did, is in R1 for 2yo's at Maryborough tomorrow

Tim Butt Racing bought it for $40k at the Nutrien sale but it is racing for Emma Stewart - maybe the same owners who TB bought it for but a change of stables as he has gone to QLD

Charlton R1 tomorrow is an interesting one for first starters

My Line Of Fire is the first foal of a half sis to an Interdom runner up

Roadmaster is also from a cracking 2nd dam, I suppose he is of interest to see whether he can make up for his dam (a Bettors) being the only failure

Joyful is really special on the breeding front as she is only the 2nd foal (after several misses) of Joyfuljoy who was a Gp1 Jewels winner

Roadmaster was the pick of the three although I think Joyful was only there to see what racing is all about, My Line Of Fire was ordinary (hard to imagine him a trial winner)

Captain Foxtrot deserves to win soon, now has 5 seconds from 8 starts

Avoca Blues as odds on fav was a strange one, you can see why Greg Sugars quiet driving style would sometimes rile punters as you would have thought the way the race panned out he had to run a place at least

Tomorrow night's Sapling Stakes at Melton could be a cracker of a race
We have not got a lot to go on but after one start each, I don't think there is a lot between Major Celebrity and Little Louie
On the tote the Stewart runner is $1.55 while LL is $5
The barrier draw is probably it with MC probably leading

They don't have it all to themselves either with Dougs Platter and Heathbern Bruce, multiple time winners who have shown ability
Will He Reign is always up there and well supported.
