The Brisbane sale results are now on their website, very poor results.

Is the Brisbane sale generaly the poorest of the apg's?

Are the costs the same to feed and care for horses in QLD as in other sates?

I get it.........they breed for the love not the money

Doe's appear to be a buy back fest but what could they expect if I lived in QLD with all that has gone on and I was looking at buying another horse I would be living out of the boot of my car. Personally I would say what an effort by Cold Mountain stud to bring what they did to the table I cannot believe that some of their stock didn't sell even though not the elite bloodlines or from champion lines some broodmares were out top shelf sires (Western Hanover, Camluck, Artsplace) from top shelf broodmare sire (No Nukes, Falcon Seelster) going back to horses like Most Happy Fella and Abercrombie lot# 339 from the fabled Miss Duvall line $6000

I think we spoke about this months ago, the flight would be the dearest part in bringing these mare's out and as i said in a previous post who ever is advising Mr Palmer should be out of a job. As Mr Palmer is pooring alot of money into setting up his empire i just would like to see him recieve some good advice on what to purchase so he doesn't run at a loss.

Defiantly Mango with the sort of money spent he could had bought a Mr Feelgood type or several and had a good hard go of taking on the big guns in both Hemispheres

Good news to come out of the Melbourne APG Sales in early February.

APG SALES

Over the Hunter Cup weekend (two sales) the average price for genuine sales rose by 2.5% (up to $18,846) while the clearance rate increased by 6.5% (to 78.9%). The demand for quality stock remained high, with an Art Major/Full Pleasure colt topping the sale at $100,000. Several buyers invested a total of between $100,000 and $150,000, therefore confidence in the industry remains positive.

I live in Brisbane and tried to sell 3 colts at this sale. I sold 1 and the other 2 did not receive a bid. I think the term buybacks is misleading as I did not buy back my 2 unsold colts as they were "Take Backs" as they did not attract a bid. How many others that have the $4,000 sales figure are take backs ?
