Zac Chappenden Take a Bow (but forget about winning Powerball)

R3 Replay from Ararat is compulsory viewing when it goes up
Zac Chappenden on the favourite was going to hold on to win WHEN
50m from the finish his sulky seat collapsed and instead of being horizontal was vertical
so Zac still holding the reins (and getting 2nd) is looking up at the sky with his back pretty much on the ground
Then after crossing the line he cartwheels onto the track - jumps to his feet - and with the majority of the field still coming - he darts one way then the other to avoid being hit

You could say he was unlucky to have the seat collapse like that but IMO he used up all his luck in not being hit by a trailing runner

ps Made me think of what we came across on the Melbourne Ring Road today
Traffic is banked up but after only a couple of minutes we get to the trouble spot (so it must have just happened) - there are dozens of tyres and wheels all over the place spread across 4 lanes (but mostly resting on the centre of the road concrete divider - too many to have occurred naturally so we figure the first of the banked up must have got out and moved them there). We see a truck with a container in the emergency lane with the driver fiddling with the tailgate. Not one other car damaged/pulled up - a bloody miracle - a bloody miracle nobody was killed. No police or emergency services on the scene yet (I hope somebody arrived to inspect that potential killer truck)
