Obviously all the breeding buffs are too busy chatting about the size of sires on the Breeders link of this web page to make any comment on what will be a top night of bluebloods matching it Bandito.

Those same breeders wouldn't be doing cartwheels about the first race for 3yo Fillies, they went the first half in over 65. Brilliant G Lang drive. So much for the elitist attitude of time constraints. Drive your horse to give it the best chance and Gav did just that. As a fan I am all for that tactic.

Race 2 Nathan Jack made the rest of them look second rate, no-one was gonna take on Real Bonus, they were racing to just make the final. How will the rest of the night pan out?

Races 3 and 4 also go to the leaders, Lenny did look good after a short midrace rev up (Still reckon Majestic Mach will never finish behind him again) and Youranut makes it eight in a row after asserting his superiority in the last half. Starting to resemble Albion Park on a Saturday night this pattern of racing.

Blazeaway Macray all the way (God bless her little $3.40 cotton socks) and Im Smouldering crosses, dictates and puts Getya Wings Out to the sword. Bookmakers must hate nights like these. I am sure the finals will be a lot more competitive.

Dan Milieki called it the best drive 'ever' and that was an understatement. Simone Walker zipped through a needle eye gap to lead, hand up and then out-sprintlaned Messini on the roughie Hectorjay Jay. He might not be the best horse going around but the way Simone drove him clearly shows how well she knows the horse. Brilliant. Took till Race 7 before the fireworks began, Border Control and Guaranteed '2 horse war', the final awaits. Restrepo an inexplicable flop and the ever capable Charlie Macsheen took full advantage. Business In Motion brought his good NSW form to Melton and went solid.

But the highlight thus far was Simone putting to shame Purdon, Douglas, Alford and co.

He got tightened up pretty bad going round first bend. Maybe copped a knock somewhere when that happened. Just saw the horse caused it relegated to 7th. More so for what happened at 1200m mark I reckon.

The Big 6 supplementary dividend for 5 winners and any other runner in last leg.... a whopping 70 cents!!

Completely missed that interference Paul, hope he's all right, he is a much better horse than that. The inexplicable part of my comment was that he looked like he was travelling and just folded in such a short distance, scratch the head sort of stuff.

There wasn't going to be any big divs last night Paul, maybe you will crack the big one on finals night.
