A $101-shot saluting is generally considered a bookies delight but plenty of punters grabbed a slice of Dot The Eye, who Mick Bellman drove to victory at any old odds in the last at Shepparton on Saturday night.
Among the notable plays on Dot The Eye were:
$50 @ $101
$30 @ $101
$25 each-way @ $61/$9
$20 each-way @ $101/$13
$20 @ $101
$15 the win / $10 the place @ $151/$18
$13 the win / $12 the place @ $126/$16
$10 the win / $30 the place @ $126/$16
$10 the win / $20 the place @ $101/$12
$10 each-way @ $101/$13 (three separate bets)
Very surprising that they all got on

$90.10 for The Blue Wren at Cranbourne today
The name jumped out at me when I perused the fields this morning as my granddaughter loves watching them out our window
Sort of thing you take for an omen bet if you are on course or having a day punting

Good one Noel - We do have a new Leader
Incredible when you look at his record, go back 8wks or 6 starts ago and he won in faster time at AP starting at $3
It would seem that the market saw him as a horse that has to lead and today he was SR3

A very honorable mention to the Caldow's Our Sportscaster winning the last at Melton today at $109
Good odds for a horse that won a metro race there only 2 starts ago

As they were scoring up Dan wished driver Olivia Weidenbach happy birthday and nominated her as a last race specialist on long shots
Both times Our Sportscaster has won, John Caldow has been on the favourite for the Taiba stable

I reckon if I could have put either of the lightweight ladies that drove the first 2 placings in R8 at Maryborough today onto 3rd placed Lord Lohki, we would have had a new leader ($155)
(Sorry Dennis)
