Whilst I'm not completely sold on that idea, the idea of running two quick miles in the space of seven days does daunt some trainers (although that said a horse like Hector could lead and have it easy). Lazarus now gets an extra week break on these guys. He had time left in the locker on Saturday night and can only improve. 4th Gp1 in 4 weeks, heat, travel, Menangle first time were against him. Will be better in the Miracle Mile.

I wouldn't think the points have any bearing on field selection. Look at where AFL, Bettabe Perfect and No Doctor Needed earned their points compared to say Major Croker and Yayas Hotspot. Would be unfair to do it on top 16 on points.

Just to clarify my position, while he disappointed me slightly Saturday night I don't think he is lucky to be in the field. ID 4th, Vic Cup 3rd, Hunter Cup 1st.
