Every article about Emma Stewart winners is always about Emma and Clayton Tonkin eg

http://www.harness.org.au/news-article.cfm?news_id=33178

If it is known that they are a partnership shouldn't it be ruled to be so
It occurs to me that not making it official just leaves them an easy out if Emma was to be disqualified
I am not saying she is doing anything wrong, it's just something that should be considered to further improve integrity in the eyes of the public

Apologies for being contoversial on a Monday morning (but I am back in Vic)

At least Clayton Tonkin gets a mention from the media - not sure how many times Craig Cross's name has been mentioned as anything more than an afterthough.

I'll put you down as agreeing with me on co-trainers
And you're on the auditon list to sing the bird song in Harnesslink's production of Mary Poppins

I don't think that Emilio believes in co-trainers or partnerships from his comments on APG TV https://vimeo.com/202593254 [Lot100 post purchase interview].

As long as it's not feeding the chooks

The Queensland remake with Emily Blunt? Cattle call here I come! Although we might need to sign up Emily from Sunshine Cleaning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN6nAIrpTb4&feature=youtu.be

So is Nathan Jack allowed to take over Amanda Turnbull's stable?

Pretty sure in NSW you can't transfer to family AFTER you get Dq'd..... Bonkaby just successfully claimed his pregnant girlfriend that he is living with is not his partner... so transfer to Jack on that precedent would probably hold.

hahahahahaha....no wonder some people have issues with the credibility of our game when you here that stuff!! got a gut busting laugh out of that....I wonder if the NSW integrity officers have seen that and would it then ring a bell or two?????.....LMAOSideways!

With HRV media continuing to refer to Emma Stewart and partner Clayton Tonkin's stable eg

https://www.thetrots.com.au/news/articles/breeders-crown-stewart-stables-300th-looms/

I ask again "if it is known that they are a partnership shouldn't it be ruled to be so"

I notice tonight that Chris Alford refers to "Clayton (first) and Emma ......." and Rob Auber refers to Clayton as "the other half of the stable"

Taylors Metropolitan AND Renown Silverware Victorian Trainer of the Year and Australian Trainer of Year: Emma Stewart

Emma Stewart: "Clayton (Tonkin's) the most driven person you will ever see, I'm hoping he slows down, I'm hoping last year will be enough but I doubt it. He's the driving force behind it. Without our terrific owners and Chris (Aflord) and our great staff we wouldn't be able to do it. Tomorrow we have off, which is unsual, tonight's the night everyone lets their hair down. This is the night we aim to be at. The future's exciting."

Who is the trainer?

Integrity ? Some people get fined for not identifying the real trainer ! How would it look if one got disqualified and they moved everything to the others name and just continued on after the disqualified one moved off the property ?

I fear as a result of my questioning as to whether David should stand down when the Maryborough accusations were being thrown around (probably a bit heavy), we may have seen the last of DM's valued contributions

Clarification from HRV stewards.
It is covered by the rule that suspended horses cannot be transferred to a member of one's immediate family
They seem to consider Clayton's role is as a foreman

It would seem to me that there is a potential loop hole in that horses could be moved to a non-family member who could then employ your 'foreman'

Do they consider Clayton a relative ? They are not married are they ?

Maybe it falls under a defacto relationship being the equivalent of marriage in the eyes of the law.

Overall I get the impression that the integrity department are not that interested in this one

Apparently this is old news with timing around when John got a positive swab. Why do HRNSW allow the registration/transfer?

You will still find

With diversifying their business, Luke and Belinda are still at the forefront of horse operations and have linked with long-time family member Craig ‘Rowley’ Cross, who has taken over the training part of the business.

Is he really family?

I thought he may have just been taking a break
But the temporary break is due to continued complications from his break - a broken leg

Love the term "long time" family member. What makes the McCarthy's different to all others? Perhaps they adopted Cross!

Congratulations to Emma Stewart but we all know that she trains in partnership with Clayton
and yet we read she has set a new mark because

'Emma Stewart has created history by becoming the first Australian harness racing trainer to claim 100 Group 1 wins in her own right.'

'Queensland-born Natalie Rasmussen has eclipsed 100 Group 1 wins, but most of her elite level triumphs have come in partnership with Mark Purdon in New Zealand.'

https://www.thetrots.com.au/news/articles/shes-done-it-emma-claims-historic-100th-group-1-win/

Just another way we mess with history when we do not enforce clear rules

Is Lisa Pitt another example of a wife/partner having the horses trained in her name so that hubbie does not have to drive the horse he trains if their something better on offer?
You all know the others in Vic

https://tasracingcorporate.com.au/2023/04/11/harness-equity-in-participation-policy/

People will discuss this policy, Yole etc seperately. But I like the wording 'under effective control'

Something similar but more in depth really needs to be implemented around the officail trainers name being the one (or multiple) in effective control.
