at the request of the diehard breeders i'm leading the Harnesslink forum owners association research paper to combat the greedy breeders

1 - create AUD100,000 races the exclude horses that are eligible for sales series'
2 - subsidise all importation costs
3 - pay for a lobby group/legal team to prevent any more fees being put on imported horses
4 - put a 50% tax on all sales revenue to fund prizemoney
5 - fund NZ workouts and trials swabbing to establish NZ as solely operating to get horses up and going for aussie races
6 - make all vendors nominate a reserve for all yearlings that is openly advertised
7 - at the expense of vendors have all yearlings x - rayed and scoped before the sales with the results publicly available
8 - claimers handicapped on their prices and prices are actually reasonable for the horses

Good work Smithy.

If the concern is numbers for future racing, why not encourage subsidising transport from NZ so we can fill the fields with more Ex Kiwis?

Lets have a NOCS - National Owners Credit Scheme.

We slug breeders to fund it.

I like point's 1,5 and 6
Point 1 would exclude every foal bred in AUS and point 5 there wouldn't be 1/2 as many horses coming from New Zealand to race Point 6 you only have to ask what they want i have found the easiest

I like points 1 and 6. As far as those sales go I think the auction should start at the reserve price. This would save a lot of time and stop those stupid buy backs.
I don't think the APG series has been good for the industry. Its very expensive to pay all the sustaining fees and over 90% of people who do pay up will lose their money. The breeders want way too much for their foals. Most of the sales toppers turn out to be duds. Some of the series races turn out to be very uneven with very short priced favorites. People want to see the best horses racing against each other, not just the best from one sale.

thanks for the support... the aim is to stop the socialists in the breeding industry trying to redistribute wealth to breeders
