Big names Missing from Breeders Crown

Hi All

Just reading some of the posts in recent week and it appears there will be, for a variety of reasons a lot of big names missing from the Breeders Crown Semis/Finals this year. Whether it be through injury, not being eligible or other reasons its a shame to see some of the best young horses missing from the action.

It could be argued that the 4 best 3 Yr old Fillies in Australasia - Better Cover Lover, Carabella, Courageous Annie and Forever Gold will all be missing, which is a real shame.Restrepo, Terror to Love, For a Reason, Smiling shard, the West Aussies Sensational Gabby and Western Cullen...each category seems to be missing some big names

Is this related to the fact the Bredsers Crown are held at the end of a long season, and is a sign of things to come, particularly in relation to getting the Kiwis across? Or is it just one of those seasons?

Last years finals contained such great action, Make Mine Cullen v Broadways Best, Royal Verdict v Sushi Sushi, the Kiwis fighting out the 3 Yr Old Colts Final, De Lovely in the Fillies final.

How does everyone rate this years series now that most 2/3 Yr Old pacing heats have been run?

Fly Like an Eagle is also out from the 2yo colts through injury

De Lovely out of the 4yo fillies through injury.

In the 3yo fillies, in addition to the ones you mentioned Baby Bling, Jennas Highview and Vertigal ( the recent Aust Oaks trifecta) all not eligible

Anyone know what has happened to Gamechanger, haven't seen him since the APG Final and he was on the Breeders Crown website has one of the main chances but didn't even run in a heat? He was definitely eligible.

Gamechanger has been spelling, returned to training just over a week ago. Looks enormous!

I see that Western Cullen won at Gloucester Park on Friday night. Was he not eligible for the Breeders?

Yes Western Cullen was eligible. Sensational Gabby was not.

Yeah its interesting that, I read he was being put away after the one run in the Golden Slipper over there but he's had a couple of runs in recent weeks and been defeating a fairly handy horse in Litle Boy Blue.

Looks a very very smart horse, with no standout 2 Yr Old Colt would have been interersting to see how he measured up. (in my humble opinion.)
