From HRNSW:

Peter Morris Jnr disqualified for 18 months

Wednesday 24 August 2011

Trainer Mr. Peter Morris JNR pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule of Racing 190 (1),(2) & (4) in that as the trainer of TULLIES RETURN he did present that horse to race in race 4, the Austrain Academy Pace at the Bulli at Menangle meeting on Monday, 15 August, 2011 when a blood sample taken from it prior to the race upon analysis revealed a Total Plasma Carbon Dioxide level above the threshold.

Mr Morris was disqualified for a period of 18 months effective immediately.

Although Mr Morris is disqualified, HRNSW will permit him to continue to perform his duties for the NSW Harness Racing Club under strict conditions.

In considering penalty, stewards took into account Mr Morris previous record, his guilty plea and his current domestic circumstances.

TULLIES RETURN was disqualified from its 4th placing under Rule of Racing 195 from the above mentioned race.

Does anyone find the middle bit astonishing? The Morris family have a fairly interesting record when it comes to positives. Any positive brings the industry into disrepute. YET he is allowed to continue to 'work' for the Menangle Club?

That is a disgrace. An absolute disgrace. The NSW industry is a leper unwilling to seek treatment. Just allow things to continually eat away at it.

Added to that Old Man Morris doesn't mind pointing the finger at people because he cannot get a winner these days. Maybe he should sort out his own backyard first where the record sheet makes for ugly reading.

not that outraged TBM, hes better off earning a living shovelling the sh!t at menangle then being the patsy for his old man to be having a punt, he might even learn enough to get a job away from the horses and the morris name

What an absolute disgrace.
Disqualified but still able to make a living from the sport and the participants he cheated.
How is this going to affect the public perception of our sport that is already in crisis?
Its a joke.

I would also like to know how many times has JNR been caught now? I can re-call one with Ashlee's Babe, where there any others?

What happens if you are a full time trainer and you get a positive swab?

You are disqualified. You lose your livehihood for the disqualified period.

However, if you happen to have a job with the NSWHRC you are allowed to keep your job with them. Seems like a massive clash of interest there.

Even better: what a good example set for the sport, employ those that give it a decent black eye. And it aint the first time the bloke has smacked the sport in the face but hell, give the bloke a job.

Maybe it is a CV prerequisite.

Beyond belief really, but then again that is harness racing in NSW. It never ceases to amaze.

What can we personally do to express our outrage , other than here , that he is still employed at Menangle? Anyone with ideas?

I could not care less about "his current domestic circumstances". He should have thought about that before he tried to cheat punters and other owners and trainers. He didn't give a stuff about any of their "domestic circumstances".

A cheat's a cheat. Get him completely out of the industry! Shovelling sh!t is too good for him.

In complete agreement with you all.
That's like standing next to your lettebox, dutifully holding a roll toilet paper...whilst someone backs up, drops his dacks and takes a crap in it.

Glad you enjoyed it Zipper. This is a particularly interesting outcome especially in light of the heat that has been applied by one or two of the Morris Stable owners with regard to other Trainers being up to no good. People in Glass Houses...

I think there will be a lot of ashamed hypocrites when this is over.

This is what gets me irate, he cheats and they let him continue to work while the honest trainers/drivers have to abide by the rules .how many chances can people be given before they get a life ban ? and let the honest participants make a decent living. dont muck around with theses cheats get them out of the game for good all they have done for decades is give the game a bad name.there are enough clean skins that will not only make HRNSW cleaner but better

I work in a world of precedents and once one is made its done and dusted, what will happen in the future when someone in the same case walks into HRNSW with his barrister and say "I'll have to find a new job if I am banned can I muck me mates stables out,but they let this other fella still work in the industry" With all that is happening in NSW one wonders if they are serious at all about these scandals.

It's obvious from all the posts here and in other threads that this Hopster person , who seems to say that everyone else posting is hiding their identity , is certainly trying to hide their own identity (very badly). We don't need to be Einstein to figure what these postings all of a sudden are all about and what they are attempting to do.

Hopster - there is a rock with all your friends hiding under it. Crawl back under it and report the latest bad news to them.

Ribbon, you are preaching to the UNCONVERTED in trying to get Hopster to see light. Below is all the scum he / she is appearing to defend are interested in. Stuff the harness industry and every honest hard working person in it. Their motto is "I'm alright Jack".

If the camp has nothing to hide, then why now put the runner's in the son's girlfriend's name, then the king himself?

It may have something to do with his suspended sentence for the A. Acid Episode a bit ago? Or am I jumping to conclusions? :D

Both stewards are co-operating fully with the investigation. The thing is that those that have been involved in these filthy scams for so long and got away with it week in week out , now completely refuse to accept that the gravy train ride over many years is about to come to an end.

That is why we will continue to see a lot of hostility in these forums and elsewhere from those ( or their representatives) trying to sidetrack the investigation into their past scumbag cheating and trying to turn the debate against those who are wanting the harness industry cleaned up , once and for all.
