On-course arrival time; two-hours introduced
The Harness Racing NSW Board today resolved to extend the two-hour on-course arrival time for participating horses to all tracks. A two hour arrival time had been trialled at Tabcorp Park, Menangle over the past three months.
The new policy takes effect at all other tracks from Monday 5 September.

[VVV] Why TST? Obviously there's a reason why you think that. I just can't think of one. I'd have thought time was time was time, daylight savings or standard. Please don't run the dairy cows will get confused about milking times or the extra daylight will fade the curtains routine that Sir Joh used to roll with up in QLD. :D:D:D:D

Unfortunately thanks to some soon to be past participants in the sport of Harness racing, this is what now needs to happen.

I can completely understand the difficulties of earlier arrival times however hopefully some significant solice will be gained by the fact that once there they'll only have to race the other horses & they won't have to deal with a series of shitbags subverting the process for their own ends.

it increases the time to 1 hr, nobody arrives on track the same time the race starts
if they win 1 extra race instead of coming 2nd to a cheat thats an extra 2,400.. if that happens once every 40 races or so hes being paid 50 bucks an hour to be there

Yeah...its only an hour extra. A great majority dont leave it till the hour anyway. It's a bit of a non issue other then being a pain in the arse for those who do things right. But at the end of the day it is going to benefit them!

I don't want be perceived as being negative to the extension to all tracks but the following scenarios have to be taken into consideration.
1.A country trainer going from say Goulburn to Wagga Wagga has to leave 2 hours earlier to meet the time deadline, meaning
less time spent on his property training and whatever else he does ( trainers chores are many ).
Does he cut back on his team or does he put on extra staff to cover for him ( most can't afford that ).
The work back home still has to be done.Race days become a bun fight.
2.What of the hobby trainer who probably works a job as well as trains, how's he going to juggle another 2 hours to meet deadlines.
Any comments.
That the country trainers are lucky there is no 4 hour lasix!
