This is where you will be going:

Country Clubs - Best Presented Track/Venue: Stawell Harness Racing Club

Lisa McIlvride: "We had a pretty rough go at Stawell for a little while and when we redid the track, it's just been amazing."

This is a great deal, good to see them trying something new. The food is great at the bistro, I have had many meals there. Very tempting !

Come on people - we have to make this happen!

We need a few (couples?) to convince a another couple to join them on this incredible value weekend and a good time will be had by all!

They need to know these numbers by Monday - so organize yourself over the weekend and decide "Yes, let's do it!"

I already live here but if another club was running such an offer I would be there with bells on

Sadly there is not much interest/money around in harness racing nowadays when this type of offer cannot get off the ground
Cancelled.

I think the fact that most people would have to take the Monday off work killed the offer. Just running a bus there and back on the Sunday would have been a better idea in my opinion .

It was a good idea Kev but as Rick said perhaps two days was a bit much right off the bat. Maybe there’s time to rethink the idea as a one day trip and I think having a host to entertain and inform on the trip and track might help.

That's a bit sad Kev. Considering it's $149 for a room (off peak) at Tabcorp Park for the night it would have to have been the best value trip ever.

I also think that Melton is not a good place to leave from, it's too hard to get to with public transport. And it's not the sort of area that I would like to leave my car overnight. Buses should leave from Southern Cross station and stop at Melton and pick up on the way past.

Yes, perhaps it could have been incorporated as a one day activity into Harness Racing Travelworlds official tour (if they are still operating)

Yes HRTW is definitely operating and as far as I am aware, no contact was made by either HRV or the Stawell club to have it included.

In saying that by the time the Stawell trip was announced the HRTW itineraries were well and truly published and many bookings for their tours made - the brochure usually come out in late August for a December Interdom.
