As much as I think he is 'average' at his job in the media; who is going to fill the void?
Hamilton has landed a job as Media Manager of TAB Sportsbet. I wish him well.

*I take it his job of writing in the Herald Sun and going on Sky has come to a conclusion. I don't actually know if that was part of HRV or seperate.

I think he is a very passionate harness supporter, and does a really good job getting harness racing some publicity in the media.
I hope we can get someone to replace him who can do likewise

Yep, agree!!! Putting it like that I am a bit harsh on Hamilton.

Massive loss to harness racing. Always looking for angles to bring harness racing to wider audience.

he usually get someone to do his form for him, and you can usually tell because its pretty spot on
i'd be surprised if they can get someone better than him, very few people would be good form students and a good media personality

Im sure Adam would dream of horses running amazing sectionals and he will be a huge loss as nobody promoted harness racing like he did.

I liked Adam's passion for the industry. I didn't always agree with him but loved the way he gave us all a different angle of a story. Over here in NZ we used to have presenters and journo's like that - now we have robotic clones of each other. Good Luck Adam on your new venture.

AH is a star. Don't know him personally. But he is professional, passionate and intelligent.
He says that he fell in love with harness racing around the time of the frog and has been ever since. That didn't stop him listening to others and learning about the previous history and halcyon days of our great sport.
We now need him to become a board member at HRV to continue his contribution and dedication.
A bit like losing a good horse a lot of people will only realise how good he was/is when we get his replacement.

Who would you all think would be a suitable replacement for Adam? No-one will be as good, of course, but would like your feedback.
With due respect to our fellow Kiwi harness friends , if you hear any mention of Mick Guerin putting up his hand for the job PLEASE do your best to talk him out of it.
You have taken our best Mark McNamara , but we do not need a "booby prize" in return :D

Would be hard to replace him, but a commentator I enjoy listing to on sky is Alan Gaskell.
Not as well read as Adam on Harness racing but is able to give free flowing pre race commentary on Harness Events.
He easy to listen too and has a very clear diction.
You may think a good clear voice and good pronunciation is not important but as an example try and listen to / understand what Andrew Johns and Brad Fittler say on the sidelines
at football matches. They both suffer from poor grammar, mumbling and both talk too quickly.

Speaking of Johns and Fittler and the NRL , has anyone ever been able to work out a single word that Darren Lockyer says in interviews? I sure can't. Sounds to me like he is mumbling in some obscure East European language

Oz, Yeah your right, can't make head nor tail with what he's saying.
Needs some teflon on his tonsils.
But probably no need to understand him, they all say the same things like
Full credit, turned up to play, self belief, stepped up to the plate, put his hand up, poor completion rate,Yeah mate,no mate etc etc......

Hehehe ROL :)
It's like every interview on TVN during the thoroughbred auctions. I wish I had a dollar for every time that an interviewee says the horse was bought because "It was an exceptional type".
Like running your fingernails down a blackboard (do they have these anymore , did in my day).
You mention Alan Gaskell. He seems to have been around forever in different media outlets and seems to have a permanent tan. Very knowledgeable and is obviously passionate about his harness racing , but can someone please ask him to stop saying "Ladies and gentleman......" almost every time they cross back to him on Sky. Another fingernails on blackboard for me :-)
However , despite this , he does a good job on Sky and makes you feel like you have known him forever.

Lol, Good comments Oz.
Very accurate perception of Alan, an ex N Zedder, I think he started life in the media on 2KY many moons ago.
My wife's a school teacher ,no blackboards any more ( much to her disgust ).
Replaced by Interactive White Boards or Smart Boards that are linked to a computer, great innervation she says.

You can blame former MP, Ros Kelly for the whiteboards craze. :p

Huge loss to the sport.
I only hope that Tabcorp allow him to still work part time on Sky in covering the big meetings and on in the gig.
