I'am a Monkey King fan also, but if Smokin Up turns up that could all change. Don't know if Stunnin Cullen would enjoy having Smokin Up camped outside him having a extra close look for a lap or two ??

I watched Stunnin Cullen last Friday night, very impressive, Monkey was a good run as well, but if smoken up stays healthy on the trip over he will be very hard to beat, he is in great form. Are there any sleepers ?

One who has been impressing is Power Of Tara,is finishing his races off very well at present, but of course Cup Day will be a intirely different animal altogther.

he's a tough horse who can do a bit of work and looks more like his earlier ability of late. Good place punt for mine.

I'm not a huge fan of Smoken Up hes getting on and will find it difficult to win if he doesnt get in some NZ racing first. I think a mile suits him more than the two miles.

I think he will be right in it if he comes, especially with Lance having already had a drive in the race he will be that much wiser for the experience....

It's shaping up as a great race, we all know that Lance will put Smoken Up into the race the only think that has me worried is the sleepers in the race that will have the last shot at the leaders in the lane, and it is one long lane ! Smoken Up will not want to go to war to early !

I hope your kidding. Seeming Smiling Shard isnt nominated for the NZ cup
I would like to say Smoken Up but his race style only set up sit sprinters like Monkey King on the other hand though any driver who holds Smoken Up out most likly wont have a horse at the end of the race.
Don
I did like Kiwi Ingenuity last run was a major improvement she set that 54 half up and only died near the end it would be nice to see her tucked up with a cozy trip and pull out in the straight maybe some nice odds too but boy Stunin Cullen is going very strong

Am I kidding? Maybe, but then again, maybe not.
You might just have to wait and see MasterK, as a victory in the Kaikoura Cup on Monday could well give us all the answers we need.
Should Smiling Shard  not be there in two weeks time, then Stunin Cullen surely has to be the one they need to beat, but like a certain galloper over the ditch, the two miles does cause some concern.
Best stayers in the race: Smoken Up and Kiwi Ingenuity......
After last night at Menangle I think Smoken Up will go alongway to winning, it was tradesman like and he cut the mile in 1:53.4 with little effort I dont know where the pressure will come from in the cup

Has there been any decision about paying the late entry fee for Smiling Shard? Still think Stunin Cullen is the winner

Stunin Cullen has been winning easily when only 90%.
The threats would have to be Monkey King and Smoken Up.

Stunin Cullen is going super, Smoken Up will make it a true run race, Monkey King needs to lift but i'm sticking with Highview Tommy i thought he's run the other day was good and i think the run will of topped him off for the big one.

Agree 100% Shannon. Unless Stunin Cullen mucks up the start, he just wins having the suck on Smoken Up's back.

Pembrook Benny can really ping away. Even though Stunin Cullen has stepped away really well recently I can see him getting crossed on Tuesday which could then mean he ends up 3 back (or further) along the fence.
If this possibility eventuates a number of other runners then come into the race.

Stunin Cullen wins - even from 3 back on the pylons.
Go Smoken Up
I cannot wait for this race it has a good mix of old and new faces my roughy for the race is Highveiw Tommy
