Was intrigued that Liberty Stride started in a stand as a lead up to the Derby.
Was flabbergasted that she has Never started in a Mobile race.
Has this ever happened in any recent Derby?
How would you feel drawn behind it?
Looks a good way of not being ODed.
I have a very small lease share in a horse that may get a run thus the self interest of research checking out its runs.

Gp 1 winner as a 3yo when she won her first 4 starts before a 2nd and an unplaced
Fremarkspoetry was first up for 18mths at Stawell today
She lost 50m at the start, made it up and circling them she gallops again and loses 30m
Goes around again but gets posted for a bit then ends up winning by 8m eased down

Keep them coming TC
Dark Horse goes zoom. I notice that was his first up start as an 8yo and that it was only his 8th start since his big 4yo season
Spirit of St Louis runs into a deadend and still sprouts wings. Can see why his last start was in the Gp race that is your third link. Also noticed Cast No Shadow ran 4th behind him a couple of starts ago - he has impressed at his 2 starts here
Self Assured the magnificent for your third. Unlike Williamson in the previous link who may offend the new whip rule, Purdon didn't need one for the champ - he dropped it but he powered home on will to win

Stridemaster tells you plenty, especially about Self Assured. 12.77 seconds for the last 200, fewer strides and longer ones than any other runner. He is ripening beautifully for the NZ Cup carnival.

She won again on Monday but I found the explanation for her long lay off interesting (and admirable)
"She was sound as a bell. It was just that she was going through a growth spurt and there were a few minor issues as she was growing out."

3yo Loorim Lake having his first start for the Stewart stable was backed from $51 to $6.50 Fixed at Melton tonight
He pulled 3 wide without cover down the back before proving too strong for Group class 3yo's
He ran that last half in around 54 secs.
It was probably the best track he has been on but before that his fastest last half was probably when he got second in his 3rd ever start 14mths ago and came home in around 58 secs on the fence at Wagga (which has a Tk Rec of 1.52.3 so is a good track)
He had to come out 3w because they had not gone hard early and he would have been pocketed but they still rated 1.55.2 for the 2240m. It wasn't the time however, it was the way he did it
He had had more starts than any other in the field
He had 20 Riverina starts for Stephen Maguire with plenty of placings but only winning the last of those starts some 3 months ago
Maguire then sold him to Mildura where he took a couple of starts before hitting his straps and winning 5 in a row for Andrew Vozlic between July 23 and Sept 4 so he has been in the Stewart stable for a maximum of 3wks
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...20#MXM26092005
Then in the next I Cast No Shadow came from a mile off them and wide at the 550m to impress (and do what he had been suggesting he would soon enough)

Only a terrible drive by the youngster cost him - he had to let the plodders take him up to the body of the field or if he felt he had to do it himself he should have done that, rested for 400 and then gone again

The stewards' report should make enlightening reading if they do their job right. Call me old fashioned but
Matt Craven and Jason Lee both deserve at least 8 week suspensions for incompetent drives on th two favourites. And all betting fluctuations need to be thoroughly investigated.

It is Jason that the stewards have suspended at this stage but there is an adjourned inquiry. I find the premise that the leader should give it up if pressured, a strange one - maybe we are supposed to follow the Americans and rotate the lead

There is no premise that the leader must hand up the lead when, or if, challenged. There is, quite rightly, expectations that drivers drive their horses to give them the best possible chance of winning. Had Craven and Lee been driving cars on a public road the cops would have charged them under "hoon" laws.
Lee's suspension was for forcing another runner three wide when trying to cross Kimble at the 1900 metre mark. More suspensions to follow I would think, although the naughty cousins will have had ample time to dream up a cock 'n bull story that gullible stewards are likely to swallow by the time they get around to holding the inquiry.
As I hinted, the matter should and could have been dealt with on Sunday night while fresh. I fear it will be swept under the carpet at the expense of the diminishing number of punters; these horses were the first and second favourites.

Watching the Chariots again
The winner was most impressive, he got a slight check from Titian Raider breaking and then was one of the ones working in that incredible Q1 as he was hunted up to hold 3 fence, then in the home straight he had to be restrained while cutting across the back of them to get the run out wide
Along the same lines, Chevron Art was restrained while coming wide and finished incredibly (at 125/1)

It is another one with Lumber Dream on its mares side, maybe that’s where the Dream part of its name comes from (Messenger put up a table showing how successful Lumber Dream was as a broodmare sire). Also related to Im the Black Flash who ran third in the WA Derby recently. It also has the American Ideal/In The Pocket cross on the mares side. Being by Captaintreacherous doesn’t hurt either.

Have a look at this win by 2yo Rockabilly Ringo in 1.54.9 at only his 3rd start
My only reservation is the good run by the 2nd horse who has not won in 18 starts now
The winner however did heaps early and won by 19m
Not a bad run by the 3rd horse on debut, who may be fitter for the run

An added grain of salt to the above - the track must be very fast today as 11yo Modern Bliss just posted a PB going 1.54.4

This was a Serious win. He did not have it easy but won as he liked in 1.57 for the long trip - Spirit Of St Louis holds the Tk Rec at 1.55.6

Another good run at GP on Friday - not something you see very often at their track

First start for 10mths, drawn the 2nd line and yet Captain Ravishing wins in a time only 0.6 secs off the Tk Rec at Geelong

The Geelong 2100m Tk Rec obviously needs improving for despite drawing the 2nd line, sitting in the death and two quarters of nearly 31 secs, Rakero Rebel was only 0.6 off that record
