I am not talking about the minus $280 last night (it happens)
I am talking about the disgusting lack of care taken in writing these tips up
R3 They suggested $60 worth of Trifectas BUT THE NUMBERS POSTED ARE COMPLETELY WRONG
(lost anyway)
"I love this race as an exotic betting proposition because I’m exceedingly confident of the Map and that it’s not a Map that everyone will necessarily agree with. The way I see things panning out IM NO OUTLAW (5) will scream to the front and be followed across by ROCKNROLL RONNIE (6) who should quickly take up the running. Should I be right then ROCKNROLL RONNIE (6) is an over-the-line job and the minors should be fought out between YANKEE LINCOLN (5) and IM NO OUTLAW (6) in the trail. We’ll stagger a sever Trick in case one of those latter runners underperforms but I suspect if we nail the aggressive exotics there’ll be something decent in it for us.
SUGGESTED BETS:
Flexi Trifecta: 2/ 1,6/ 1,6: $40 gets 2000%
Flexi Trifecta: 2/ 1,6/ 2,3: $20 gets 500%"

Then in their Early Quaddie tips they made a mistake or typo that pros should never make
If you look at their main ones you will see that they must have meant to include number 2 for the 2nd leg of their wider play but somehow left it out (not that it mattered – luckily they got away with it) But slack service to their readers/followers again
"4/ 2/ 6/ 3,7,8: $32 gets 1066.67%
4/ 2/ 6/ 1,2: $5 gets 250%
4/ 1,6/ 6/ 3,7,8: $18 gets 300%
4/ 1,6/ 6/ 1,2: $3 gets 75%
3,6/ 1,6/ 6/ 3,7,8: $36 gets 300%
3,6/ 1,6/ 6/ 1,2: $6 gets 75%"

For those of you that took JB's $500 worth of bets
You would be happy with getting the main Quad 10 times and returning a profit of $378 on the night

Unbelievable - they have done it again ie Got their numbers wrong
SO UNPROFESSIONAL
BUT this time a punter following their tips
Would have got the Quaddie by mistake tonight at Melton
Blake only took 2 in the last leg but he assigned his second pick Imperial Whiz the number of his third pick Scallywag Sam
https://www.thetrots.com.au/news/articles/the-goodform-gameplan-tabcorp-park-melton-friday-12th-june/
'SAMMY SHOWDOWN (5) is worth forgiving out of last start and in the small field he should be a bit too sharp for his rivals late. That said, IMPERIAL WHIZ (3) will give a good sight out front so with SCALLYWAG SAM (2) the clear next best, it’s a good race to be involved through the multiples."
His Quaddie numbers
1,2,3,4/5/1/5 for $30 gets 750%
1,2,3,4/5/1/3 for $10 gets 250%
1,2,3,4/5/8/5 for $10 gets 250%
1,2,3,4/8/1/5 for $10 gets 250%
1,2,3,4/8/1/3 for $5 gets 125%
1,2,3,4/6/1/5 for $5 gets 125%

JB had a good result with his suggested bets at Shep tonight
Got the $220 Early Quaddie twice for $170 profit (only one little typo )
In R7 he got his main Trifecta 16 times (x $10.70) for $131 profit
Didn't suggest anything in a couple of races and a couple of others did not meet his required odds

I hope some got on as his betting plan went up very late tonight

Interesting to note that apart from the second favourite The Fortunate Son, the Tote odds were much better than the Fixed

Blake Redden's terrible tipping continues in the first at Melton today
(has he had a single Friday meet where he has shown a profit?)
His no.1 tip failed but not only that - he is out of the early quaddie
It is in Quaddies that we some absurd confidence
Taking only 3 quaddies for $10 each
3x1x1x1
And does not even get the first leg
Edit: He did not get a single leg
HRV should think about giving the job to someone else
I wouldn't be such a harsh critic but it is the way these young fellas suggest you throw your money around that IMO demands that they must be judged on results

A fired-up Friday GoodForm Panel featuring Jason Bonnington, Blake Redden and Cody Winnell yesterday on SENTrack with the boys joined by leading trainer-driver Mick Stanley, who made a case as to why Boncel Benjamin looked terrific value at the $11 priced by Bonnington.
Boncel Benjamin is $6.5 into $3.2 with TAB fixed odds, suggesting some big punters are standing with Stanley!
https://www.thetrots.com.au/news/articles/fired-up-friday-goodform-panel-podcast/
So in actual fact the horse never was $11

I am not sure what this means for Ride High's race
JB's only taking 4 first four combinations and saying "punters being a little too aggressive and a little too bullish" may help
so is he saying that many will take only 6-5-3-4 or 6-5-4-3
and so he is saying he is really hoping/betting on 1 getting fourth and the first 4 paying $8 so his $60 outlay returns $120

I got thinking about the above after the race
The Exacta was a given
That just left 3rd and 4th
If you knew that one horse was not going to run 3rd or 4th - lets say one of the favoured ones like No.4 Courageous Saint
You only have to take 6 combinations to cover all the possibilites
6/5/1,2,3/1,2,3
Put $1k on each
Ends up the First Four pays $24.90
After an outlay of $6k you collect about $25k
A profit of $19k is tidy
Turns out Courageous Saint never looked like running anything other than 5th or 6th

But I would like to add that I like the Goodform concept but not for what it is intended
I like the fact that it gives the non-punters or virutual non-punters something more to follow :)

In his assessment of the last at Terang he writes
"when MBL kick in then jump aboard the train"
It took me a while to figure it out as Michael Braun (Limited) is not the listed trainer of Willie Go West

You can’t get on for any decent amount until the minimum bet limits kick in (dont ask me when that is) so after that when the serious punters can operate if the horse shortens follow the money trail and GET ON!!!
All this only further backs up your original point, Joe Blow the average $2 punter would have have no idea what he was talking about.
As a general rule I think Jason is one of the better judges and form students in the country but at times he does drink a bit to much of his bath water and thinks he’s the coolest cat going around.
As for his mate (Blake) lets just say id have more faith in my dog reading a race.

I should reinforce what I said in post 17 - I think Goodform is great for giving only occasional punters like myself something to follow
To be fair, it may only take one big quaddie to wipe out a couple of months of losses
ps I realize everyone can adjust the suggested bets to suit their budget but I can also imagine it being good for an on-course punters club where a number of people have chipped in a small amount

JB finished up a little thanks to getting half the quaddie (although losing $100 on the early quaddie was his worst result)
He had quite a few collects but could not get the trifecta's to pay him a decent return
Not that it would have made him much but in R3 he told it exactly right that 8 & 13 were the only ones that could beat his no.9 but despite taking plenty of combos he never took 8-13-9

The plan did not go to plan again last night
Cody should have got off to a good start in R1 but did not make it a bet because he was working on it being shorter than it started
I suggest you state what odds you would take your selection at Cody as you can never be certain of the market and once again it cost you (you were confident about it but did not predict the market favouring you)
Some may have got Jamieson Steele at $6.50+, I don't know as I didn't follow the market but it did start only $4 so some may have followed the rules and missed the collect
Then again some may have missed the Star of Memphis trap as she started much shorter than you were told to take
Overall, I reckon it should be toned down a bit so that we are not talking about a $500 spend if followed in its entirety or else you have to have a professional punter/assessor doing the tips.
We should be a little careful as it isn't just banter, we are publishing it and calling it Goodform.
If we were to hold a competition on the forum using Monopoly money - that would be completely different
Units are a thing of the past as we know so any bet can be for a set amount of dollars and a percentage
I know people with less disposable income can choose to bet less but in order to be seen as a responsible organization I think we should write it up for less and let those with more disposable income bet more if they choose to
Maybe we have to be more circumspect about trying to get quadies and trifectas 10 times and missing
I repeat - I enjoy following it BUT just as TrotsVision has continued to evolve and get better and better, so can Goodform

JB had a good night at Melton last night despite a couple of mistakes! (I think it wasn't posted until very late as I did not see it until after the event)
A few winners AND both the main Quaddie
BUT if you looked at his Early Quaddie, he just had to take 6,7,9/1,8,10/1,4,6/2 for a minimum of 66% (probably twice this) as he took his lesser liked 6,7,9/4,9,11/1,4,6/2 for 66%. This oversight cost him $350 to $700
and in the R8 Tri he would have been kicking himself for not having at least a couple of units on 7/2,6/1 costing him $100+

JB has had a night out
He spent $70 to get the Early Quaddie 3 times 3x$24 =$72 so only $2 profit
He spent $30 to get the R3 First Four 2½ times 2½x$17 = $43 so only $13 profit
He spent $20 to get the R4 Tri twice 2x$21 = $42 so $22 profit
His biggie was $20 spent to get the R2 Tri twice 2x$62 = $124 so $104 profit
and having $10EW on Sassyola for a $90 return and a profit of $70
He spent $70 on the Quaddie to get half of $894 = $447 for $377 profit
$7 profit on an each way bet
So the best part of $600 profit on his $300 outlay
ps Does anybody know what Nikita's best bet was?
