You can see why Rob Auber was once again tonight musing over how Im Anothermasterpiece can be so well graded here in Australia

To illustrate his point for him.

On 26 Jan 2019 he was fav and ran 2nd in the Vic Derby at Ballarat with Lochinvar Art finishing 3rd
After that he had a bit of a lean spell for 8 starts before winning 4 races in the 3 mths between Dec 2019 and Mar 2020 - collecting $76k from those wins (as a 4yo)

While after the Derby, Lochinvar Art had made $80k in race wins before Sep 1 2019 while still a 3yo.
After a spell L.A came back as a 4yo in 2020 to race in the following 6 races:
Cobram Cup (1st)
Shep Cup (5th)
4yo Bonanza (1st)
Hunter Cup (7th)
Chariots of Fire (1st)
Miracle Mile (2nd)
YIKES!

How is it that on the other hand Im Anothermasterpiece has been eligible to plunder two NR 70-79 metro races?

It's all down to the new improved handicapping system (with added organic botanicals!) we have introduced in Australia which complements the equally new and improved handicapping system so loved (or loathed) in NZ. Another Masterpiece is a very good horse, an outstanding 2 year old that gets "rewarded" with a R100 rating at home. The lack of fast class options there consigns him to receiving wind burn every time Self Assured whooshes past him.

The same applies to Princess Tiffany, and you saw her say thanks for the change of scenery tonight. But she has a NR120 rating, the near complete absence of mares races in NZ being the reason she is here. Reality is, once a good mare turns 4 in NZ they are pretty well buggered. It's come to Oz or go to US or stud.

The bigger mystery is how dumb and uninformed are the punters that let these two start at $4.90 and $3.70?

Pretty easy to say these things after the race when Boxofchocs failed and 3 or 4+ horses you would have expected to run past Maajida death seating didnt.

Not really. A horse having it's seventh race start as $1.20 favourite against a proven quantity and last start winner in Another Masterpiece. Box of Chocolates ran like acid drops.

If you were watching Trots Vision you were well informed about both of them before and after they won. I backed the first one but not the other ! I thought PT may have needed the run but I was wrong ! This new system forced many 3yo's to run in that race due to lack of other races with decent money .
