Hello,

I have come across this forum and I am hoping that all you knowledge people will be able to provide me with advice.

I consider myself a proficient thoroughbred follower where I am able to do my own research with regards to breeding and ownership opportunities.

I would now like to become a part owner in a standardbred but unlike the thoroughbred where a simple google search such as "horses available" will bring back many trainers with shares to sell, the same search for Standardbreds brings back little.

How does one commence a share for a trainer that has horses available and then how do you narrow this do to improve your chances?

And what are normal monthly costs for say a 10% share?

All comments welcome.

Follow the harness racing for a while, for Victoria, if you watch on Trots Vision - you will see trainer interviews sometimes. See what stables/people you like

IMO the sport is weak when it comes to advertising syndicate opportunities

We are 3 months into the season so you can see from the Stakes column in the trainers chart - there is not a lot of money to be made in harness racing (owners have to expect to lose in fact)

There are sites like the following but you don't want a whole horse

There are also stud farms who might point you in the right direction

Hopefully we will get other posters with suggestions
