Bruce Negus bought 10 lots for a mere $40k

Lot 1 What The Hill – On the Mantelpiece Filly $3,000

Lot 22 Downbytheseaside – So Many Words Colt $4000

Lot 29 Majestic Son – Susan Colt $9000

Lot 43 Sweet Lou – Yasmine Bromac Filly $4000

Lot 47 Sweet Lou – Arden’s Pearl Filly $4000

Lot 73 A Rocknroll Dance – Chevelle Star Colt $2000

Lot 75 Ultimate Machete – Cracka Dawn Colt $3000

Lot 95 Downbytheseaside – G B Blaze Colt $4000

Lot 101 What The Hill – KC Spur Filly $4000

Lot 129 Sweet Lou – Nicky’s Power Filly $3000

8 of these Lots have sold for roughly half the sires advertised service fee, the only exceptions are Lot 29 (twice SF) and Lot 75 (= SF),

Only Studs standing these sires could sell at these prices but with them getting so little why aren't they thinking of what they are doing to the market (and smaller breeders - their customers)

I was just reviewing this year's APG Sydney Yearling Sale and noticed that there were 8 Sweet Lou's and they all sold for $40,000+ at an average of $46,000
At the above weanling sale I couldn't help but notice the number of Sweet Lou's
So I thought I would do the maths
26 Sweet Lou's sold for a mere $218,500
That is an average of $8,400
I know we are comparing weanlings to yearlings and not taking into account the different broodmares but it makes you think when
Sweet Lou's advertised service fee is $8,250
