Racing at their main/metro track means something in NSW

From the first race meeting in January 2022 the base prizemoney for mid-week races run by Club Menangle will increase to $9,800.

Prizemoney for these races will be advertised at $9,996, as NSW pays 102 per cent of base prizemoney to ensure all starters receive a minimum of two per cent.

http://www.harness.org.au/media-room/news-article/?news_id=50636

It would have been great if they had increased it by $4 more - $10,000 has a much better ring to it

I dont think we can complain about boring leader dominated races and then complain when they run a lead time thats on the quick side so a driver tries to show some initiative.

Thanks Kevin. This one is very special ; a grand daughter of my all time favourite Top Tempo. TT was a hard knocking mare who was as tough as they come. Unfortunately love or money couldn’t save her, she had a tumour and we lost her 18 months ago. She has created a dynasty of female Group1 winners Musical Delight , Queen Of Pop, Speak No Evil (3) ,Just Hope (2) we own all her fillies except one. Dam of 10 foals ; the last one a 2 year old filly ready to trial and a surviving twin filly who was never a racing proposition and is in foal to Poster Boy.

A horse that has won its last two on grass and struggled everywhere else in its last ten starts and comes out and bolts in running 1:49.6! And all of this just 25 days after hopping on the plane from NZ. This is the type of bedtime story you'd tell a horse mad little kid.

Two races earlier Stingray Tara starts favourite and wins easily, just 22 clear days after finishing ninth at Ballarat starting at $71. Another bedtime story with a happy ending!

And, just to be nice, the NSW stewards didn't bother to ask trainer Jason Grimson to explain how he achieved such vast form improvements after just three weeks in his care. Obviously, the stewards believe he is just a great trainer whereas Kevin Townley and Geoffrey Webster are struggling novices.

We are being taken for mugs.

Em.1 Eye Believe gets a start in the Tiara - she was most unlucky not to be in the field - the deadheat in one of the heats would have been a slower "2nd" than her if there had been a margin not a deadheat

Jack Callaghan on Bob Sloy was 3½ wide and Rickie Alchin on Soho Spectre decides he is going 4½ wide around him but Jack decides he is going to boot up
Looking at it again I now see that Soho Spectre was probably the run of the race - 2nd line and worse still a little behind at start, asked to go 4w+ and pushed wider, sits in death

And they're asking this of 2yo's

Hint....look at which horses were going to be 1, 2 and 4 in the running and the possibilty of an easy quarter or two, which might just make the leader's task a bit more comfortable.....I think Bernie may have seen the same move too many times....oops that was too big a hint.;)

Trotters Oaks winner (and now 3/3) Keayang Zahara might be something special as she must have broken 27secs for Q4
Once again the sire is Volstead

Well Ladies In Red is $1.65 for the Queen Elizabeth
I am only going on one run but if Aardies Express had drawn 2, I would have her vying for favouritism
Her 1.48.9 doing it super tough first up for 4mths was simply ridiculous

Saturday night should be a magnificent night's racing

https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fields/race-fields/?mc=PC040524#PCM04052401

Well that last start by Aardies Express was no aberration - tonight she sat 3 wide the whole way and beat LIR who had the pegs

And again she shows she is something special beating the boys in the Derby - her only worry was extricating herself off the fence
(2nd placed Pinnie is also a Volstead filly)

Parkes tomorrow night - by the time they get to the winning post for the 4th time, you would think it should be Swayzee in front

New South Wales really seem to be THE state.
Plenty of $10k non Metro races like Tamworth tonight otherwise nothing below $7k at every track on any day

Menangle seemed to have the B team behind the camera on Saturday night
It wasn't the only race but have a look at how bad the focus is for Max Delight's
Then have a look at how they never panned out for a whole lap thus not showing the Interdom champ and $1.35 fav The Locomotive in R8

It is interesting to note that Barrier 1 is the LEAST winning barrier at Menangle
Only winning a mere 8.5% of races

Besides the 1st at Menangle , everyone else so far should move to Menangle. They would make a very nice living. Let's see who else should move there with the remaining races. (Up to race 7 as I write this. ).

Without a big following how long can even NSW's healthy bank account finance the show?

I wonder why Swayzee did not have one of the NZ slots?

We needed Max to win that Trish or else it may have gone down as one of the most boring races ever run - 10 horses in single file for over a mile

It was great to see Max win , he has been such a good horse for so many years . A lot of horses love sitting behind speed . Yes it was boring till up the straight . Jay OK ran home well.

To be fair, the speed they were going, nobody would have wanted to breeze

The Group racing moves to NSW this weekend

The locals will be looking to stop Emma Stewart from plundering their riches

I don’t believe they are published anywhere. But I stand to be corrected if someone is more knowledgeable

Thanks Carol.
IMO , I think they should publish them because when they don't , the nature of people is to assume the worst . So the damage is done anyway . Even if some results are positive people are better off knowing because if they don't , they will believe all results are positive .

Gatesys Gem makes it an Oaks/Derby double

I cannot say I am a fan of the $100k < NR70 races, it just encourages trainers to hold horses back to this rating in order to qualify
