After last night, the leading 2 year-old sires on wins are Sweet Lou and Vincent with 3 each.

Watching the NZ yearling Sales live from Christchurch and the auctioneers are earning their keep. Always B Miki stock have not sold weel, the top priced being $55,000 for a colt related to Elsu to the Dunn Stable. Vincent stock have sold OK when you take his service fee into account, with most in the $15-40K bracket. Interesting is who is buying them - Allstars (3), Tony Herlihy, Doug gale and Bruce Negus amongst them. Some good judges there.

You used to be able to get well bred horses at a good price. No longer the case.

Supply and demand I guess. The demand is still, there but breeding numbers suggest supply is limited, forcing prices up.
