Harness Racing Victoria chair Dale Monteith said the sport had lost a great friend who above all “was just a wonderful human being”.

“His positivity shone through and he gave so much to harness racing,” Monteith said. “Looking at his record and what he has collected, he was a beacon in harness racing.”

Truer words have never been spoken by Dale

I had been off-grid all day and was shocked when I read this on the HRA website. I never met Noel in person but we had corresponded on a couple of occasions and found him to be a fountain of knowledge, a passionate trots man an an extremely generous and obliging man. Very sad news and may condolences to his family and friends.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Mr. Noel Henry Ridge
will be held upstairs here at the Bendigo Harness Racing Club, Lords Raceway, McIvor Road, Junortoun on TUESDAY (July 11) at 1.30 pm.
A Private Cremation will be held prior to the service.

Noel has been inducted into the Hall of Fame and Rob Auber just did a fantastic pictorial tribute to him on Trots Vision. Fantastic to see. So many of us are still coming to terms with his passing

And nice to hear Dan add his respects and crediting Noel with resurrecting the Hall of Fame
