I have been asked what happens to the Vicbred horses running in the Eureka?

Do they just miss out on the Vicbred races this year? Or do they skip the heats (tonight & tomorrow night) and get a free ride into the semis?

In the first of the 4yo mares heats at Shep tonight Amore Vita took 1.8 secs off the Tk Record
We are talking in the vicinity of 35m over the 2190m distance

The Vicbred 2yo Fillies Semis R.5&6 tonight

I cannot remember who was in the heat that was declared a No Race at Kilmore but I am assuming it is all the runners that do not have a Kilmore last start next to their name

Amore Vita, Draw A Dream, Eyethink, Petracca, ....... Some big runs

Stormryder, Sweet Bella, Petracca and Amore Vita have all drawn nicely in their finals

It appears that David Moran keeps the drive on Amore Vita

Unfortunately for Susan Is Her Name (ODM) Rockinwithattitude has drawn 3 which now sees Susan with a massive task

The Locomotive now into $1.50 - makes the openers of $2.40 feel like a winner already
and Susan is in to $3.10 so likewise - from taking better than 5/1 to the skinny 2/1

Just looked at Bendigo results & Stewart did not win one race last night , even with 5 favourites .

Stormryder's 1.53.1 was sensational for a 2yo over 2240m but it should be noted that School Captain rated exactly the same in last years 2yo Breeders Crown

3yo Arcee Phoenix's 1.56.8 was only 1.4 secs outside Majestic Man's open 2240m Tk Rec

Lastly, the reason Susan Is Her Name was able to do what she did was pretty much natural improvement from 2yo to 3yo for although she gave herself a massive handicap at the start the race time was pretty much identical to what she ran as a 2yo in beating Rockinwithattitude in last year's Breeders Crown

And although the pics seem to show a crowd (mind you, one pic is the cafe which the owners function took over - I am guessing they weren't members of VHRC and could not use that new facility) on the HRV facebook page some participants are saying there was nobody there (they will be in trouble). Of course it would not compare to NYE
