I guess his problem is that this is a privately owned forum and they don't want to get sued because other people run their mouths off.

In YOUR opinion which a court could find defamatory. Don't you see the irony in complaining about people damaging something you care about by breaking the rules by damaging something people care about by breaking the rules?

By the way Pete the only reason things get removed/deleted or locked is when "people" complain.
Those "people" are on here all the time.
They are serial whingers who continually try to belittle others with their comments.
Very rarely visit meetings cos the line-up to confront them would be uncontrollable.

Shocked and disappointed with the closing of the largest thread on a matter closest to the hearts of we who love the sport. I read and totally agreed with the frustration that Murray spurted out last night only to see it deleted for what I can only assume was because of language issues. Nothing inflammatory or offensive to me.

Now that it is hitting the fan admin maybe should remind us of our obligations in posting AGAIN so discussion can be free flowing without fear of removal unless we go over the bounds of reasonableness(is that a word).

Free speech please!!!:(

I'm tipping a recently created thread could become the new biggest thread!

Could be Brendan, could be.
But really it is stupid in this day & age that a thread gets closed.

Scott and David, are you able to provide examples of websites successfully sued for defamatory forum posts?

Cheers

Wow, this needs to go at the top of every page.

I think everyone here, including myself, Harnesslink and the mods will support free speech, and we try to promote it as much as possible. But there are forum rules which are there to a) keep it legal, and b) keep it civil. When a thread looks like it's no longer doing a and/or b it needs to be closed. That's why it was closed, it doesn't get special privileges because it's large. It's a shame that a few people can ruin things for everybody, so I urge everyone to use the report post feature to prevent things turning bad.
