Bryce buchanan - jim smith

Two stalwarts of harness racing have passed away recently, Bryce Buchanan and Jim Smith. Both were great horsemen that had forgotten more than most of us had learned and both were what makes our industry what it is.
Like thousands of others, I was lucky enough to know both men and our game will be worse for the loss of them.

While I never knew Bryce, Jim was more than just an acquaintane to me. When racing my trotters, it was inevitable Jim would have one in the same race and they usually were the dangers in the field. For someone to have trained a Rowe Cup winner is very special - but two just shows his special training ability. Rest well Jim. Condolences to Jim's family and of course to Bryce's also.
