Yet another grand old campaigner was lost to the harness racing community on Sunday (December 16) when George David Shand (Geordie) passed away peacefully on his 83rd birthday. George is most noted for being the trainer/driver of iron horse Eastwood Jaunty (184 starts, 13 wins, 12 seconds, 12 thirds, Lt $127, 901) as well as being the early educator of 1985 New Zealand Cup winner Borana.
