At Charlton today From a 20m standing start back mark over 2100m smashed track record (due to a runaway leader) he circled the field and won with a mile rate of 1:56.9!!!
Check out the replay, that was fantastic.

Terrific horse Ash. He was a LOVELY yearling. I saw him while he was being sale prepped an Annie Dalton's place & again when he came up to Sydney to the APG Sale. Annie loved him. Had a real personality. It's great to see him going from strength to strength. More power to him.

Fantastic horse and fantastic run.
Goodtime Slater also won the race before for Emma Stewart. Last year she trifected the Vic Oaks, can she trifecta the Vic Derby? It is a lot to ask for but she is a realistic chance of having a few runners in the race.

G'day Breno,
Goodtime Slater is an extremely talented individual too. I missed the race but just watched that replay. He really just toyed with them.
Here's a bit of History for what it's worth. The Slaters obvious bred him, Tony Pace bred his dam, Lifes Just Magic. Graham Churchill bred his 2nd dam, Chef's Magic (& B.P. Hanock trained her & she left a couple of Trotting winners) & the late Ron Croghan bred his 3rd dam, Toliver Pigeon & also his 4th dam Pigeon Bay. You guessed it....the late George Aiken's much loved Yearling Sale call..."From the family of the great Cardigan Bay!"

This horse is a freak. One can only imagine what time he might run if let loose at Menangle in a race like the chariots. Fly like an eagle is the only horse who has the top end speed to match in my opinion and he might not be coming for the chariots. It will be interesting to see what happens over the coming weeks.

[VVV] I could well imagine Ash. For him to have gotten to where he ended up from where he started he would have had to roll home in that sort of time. Wicked. Love it!
