Very sad for Sushi's life to end this way. He deserved a long retirement in a lush paddock somewhere.

Shocking end for any horse of his age made all the worse for him and his connections due to his exceptional talent.
My heartfelt condolences.

Yes Trevor, he held the attention of the harness worlds gaze before heading to NZ...an excitement machine and a sad loss to the industry. But a much harder loss for those that actually knew the horse. Very sad to hear this tragic news.

Terrible news and it's a fear I hold with any horse returning to the track after a traumatic leg injury. There are a couple of horses racing now that have been in that position and I'm very apprehensive every time they race.

A great and exciting horse who was so good for the sport attracted positive attention through the media, and had a big fan base. Its very sad news and definetly a loss for the industry.
