Race 2 Menangle today trotters TO-T1 first qtr in 27.7
Opalesque pings out very fast to lead easily...hang on...that doesn't look right...hes pacing!
Full on went the whole race pacing beautifully, you can see down the straight as it fades thru the field to last the driver of a passing horse has a good long look, obviously says something to driver of the pacer/trotter about it, but Opalesques driver keeps "driving" his horse to the line giving it 5-6 gentle taps with the whip as if nothings wrong with no intention of trying to break its stride and get it to actually trot.
Bit late at the 1300m mark mind you, but how the hell can you not know he's pacing and not trotting the 2 gaits are so different when sitting in the cart...
That little "discussion" they had was gold...
Funnily enough the pacer/trotter was Disqualified.
