Further to the above...

Talented young horsewoman Danielle Lewis, a past graduate of Warragul's Gippsland Harness Racing Training Centre, was killed while driving a horse at Cranbourne this morning.
The 28-year-old was found unconscious just after 7am by a fellow worker at the shared stabling facility at Cranbourne Racecourse, and was unable to be revived.
It is believed she was driving one horse, and leading another alongside, when she was thrown from the sulky into a garden bed.
Danielle was a natural horsewoman, and after graduating from the Training Centre just over 10 years ago, found work as a stablehand in galloping and trotting stables in Australia and New Zealand.
Upon her return to Australia she settled at the Croydon harness training stables in Melbourne's east, assisting local trainers.
Her first race win came with a Croydon trained horse, Gunnas Rule, fittingly at Warragul in October 2008.
More recently Danielle relocated to the Cranbourne training facility, where she prepared her own small team of horses while continuing to take race drives for other trainers.
One such trainer was Greg Hansen, who entrusted Danielle with the drive of his talented three-year-old filly Kiss Kenny this year.
Danielle and Kiss Kenny combined to win seven races this year, helping Danielle to secure her best ever season in the sulky. Her career highlight came just nine weeks ago, when Kiss Kenny won a Repechage of the Breeders Crown series at Kilmore.
Like many young people in the racing industry, Danielle was a "battler" but made the most of limited opportunities, and her sudden passing will leave a huge void in the close knit Gippsland harness racing community.

Absolutely awful news...tragic, dreadful and gut wrenching. This is bloody horrible, a young lady not even thirty years of age. Our thoughts to her immediate family.

Terribly tragic news, very sad. It can just go to show how working with these big strong animals can sometimes be unpredictable and dangerous.
Deepest sympathys to all concerned...

So very sorry to hear this. Deepest sympathy to her family.

Animals that bring us such joy can also bring such sadness.

Such sad news.

Would be fitting if Simone and bill walker won the Danielle Lewis tribute race at cranbourne tonight with a little bit sassy, would be a good end to a very tough week. Best of luck to all involved, the horse is leased by the ladies from cranbourne racing club.

A minute's silence also observed at this morning's Warragul trials, where Dani went through the Gippsland Harness Training Centre at age 15, learnt to drive and drove her first race winner.

Best of luck to all involved, the horse is leased by the ladies from cranbourne racing club. A bit of Divine Intervention Greg as a friend pointed out to me earlier and I hope you had a wager on the horse. Although it was a dead heat, I would like to congratulate The Walkers on the win in trying times.
