Maximan outside front row V Guaranteed inside second row over the LONG Cup trip from the Stand

In the Popular Alm Sprint, Bitobliss (1) and Wartime Sweetheart (2) return from 3 month spells while Amajorjo (8) resumes from a 4 month spell

One thing for certain - Dean Braun will not be training the winner of both races this year

Here's one for you Kev, from the days when the TV networks would go to Kilmore by chopper to get some footage for their news bulletins that night.

The year is 1980.

Thanks Kyle - what a cracking race. Check it out people. Despite the long trip the leader was trying to run them off their legs down the back with over a lap to go. A great second by Pure Steel

Steelo's legs would have been aching after that!

And I think the most famous of all - Popular Alm coming from 35 metres in 1982.

You boys have just highlighted why Harness Racing is going backwards.........."back then, in the old days," horses coming off handicaps winning.....horses punching the breeze trying to out stay their opponents.......recently Blacks A Fake wearing them out.......Imthemightyquinn outsprinting them from back in the field!........memories you cherish?..........now you are giving it all away so some "scrubber" can dive up the sprint lane and knock you off!

Brian Gath on Bret Eden sure made things tough for them.
How was that dashing move by Jack Leonard on Royal Three at the 400
Driving like that put any Sprint lane out of business Steve.
Adios Supreme who finished second would have been the recipient but they put paid to the leader well before the home str
Thanks Kyle

Poppy!

Best ever.
Knocked down 3 times, 5-6 wide from 400m, amazing.

Poppy's slightly less glamorous stablemate Raging Bull won in 1984.

It would be nice if there were some bonus time incentives.
Track Rec is 1.53.9 for 1690m

Should be a beautiful day at Kilmore (I think the Adelaide rain will not arrive until later)

Great tough win guaranteed. But as I said yesterday Bitobliss to give the record a nudge, he did more than that,he gave it a mighty shove. Let's hope he is back to somewhere near his best and can finally get a big one that he deserves.

Yes great run by winner and great drive by G Lang,
slowly snuck around mid race, put the leader under pressure at the 600, said to Maximan, lets see what you've got, and prevails as winner.
Great staying performance by 2nd and 3rd horses too...

Would like to see Bitobliss carry on from here, but i think we have this conversation each time he comes back in don't we...? and unfortunately and frustratingly I'm sure for connections disappointing as well.
