The MM champ has come up with the coveted 1 barrier this Satdy night in the Cranbourne Cup. Great to see TTL stick around.....he drew the 4.
http://www.harness.org.au/fields.cfm?mc=CR061214

TAB have gone up $1.55 Christen Me, TTL $4.20 with the other chance in the market Maximan (3) $8-. I'm not sure the 'smarts' at the TAB have that market correct......I'm 99% sure the 3 will cross the 1, and I give the 2 (Exciteusinthecity) a 50-50 chance to also cross. The early battle for the lead, just like in the MM, will be interesting.

So glad to see TTL stick around!!! Great decision by connections, his run coming home late in the FFA in NZ was great after getting out late, and his last 400 was super in the MM.
FINALLY gets a barrier draw in Australia!!! distance will suit him perfectly and the big long Cranbourne straight gives him every chance, especially as you say Brent that CM may be 3 pegs!!
Lets hope they all stay for Ballarat too, how'd that be?

Attended the Carnival launch today at Fed Square. With the return to the two big races a week apart and early fixed odds betting hopefully the carnival can recapture some of the past glory.

What an intriguing race the Cranny cup will be! You might be right Brent. I can't see CM holding out some extremely quick beginners next to him! CM will be very hard to beat, but those odds... TTL has a great chance and the odds so far are juicy!

Always staggered me why TTL hasnt raced in the vic and hunter cups, given their the races his best suited to and for his stallion vaule

Yeah so whats better?
CM $1.50 to WIN
TTL $1.48 PLACE!!! If he cant get 1st 2nd or 3rd theres something very wrong from barrier 4! Thats a better bet than CM who HAS to win i reckon

For sure Ash! I'm curious how TTL goes from a good draw. I would like to see him win a race down here.

If that's the case then the twos on (even shorter at some books) is about right. I still have him getting crossed, but I'll bow to your greater knowledge if I'm wrong Harvey. Cheers

This weekend also features the running of the Golden Nugget and Treuer Memorial in the pacing ranks.

With 175K up for grabs the Nugget is the weekends richest event. Hall Snr looks to have a stranglehold on the race with 6 of the 12 starters including likely odds on fav and potential superstar Waylade. The barrier draw will be conducted later today. I have my fingers crossed that classy mare Libertybelle Midfrew draws to lead as I reckon she goes like a learjet on the pegs.....she would then be a worthy foe to the favourite. The query runner in the race is the Mick Brennan NZ import Billies A Star who is first up in the west. Surprisingly (at least to me), ace reinsman Luke McCarthy is booked to travel over and steer.

The Treuer Memorial is having somewhat of a gap year. With the club in financial trouble, the race this year is worth only 30K and looks more like an M2-M3 event. Here's hoping that Bankstown can sort through its issues and we see the race return to the Grand Circuit level next year. It's a who's who on the honour roll of the Treuer with past champions including Village Kid, Westburn Grant, Jack Morris, Golden Reign, Our Sir Vancelot, Christian Cullen & Blackie just to name a few. This years winner won't fit into that category but we still should see a competitive affair. Tappy has the odds on fav & likely leader in Chariot King (1) but things may not go all his way. There looks to be early pressure from Freyberg (3) followed by mid-race pressure from Living Lord (4) & the tough Heza Thrill (5) who is however first up. If there is just a little too much spice early/mid race Hes Kinky (9) could spoil the party late. I'll have the beer money on him at 15/1 e/w first up for team McCarthy.

Ash can take care of the feature trot that's on Satdy night but surely if u just had the house on the favourite ($1.30) u could build a kick ass games room with the winnings! Ash??

If you really wanted to build a serious games room complements of a serious racehorse.
I think they may have bought him on Luke reco when over for the cup meeting confirmed with a stylish win Race 2 day 2

Nuh, thnku!
Good to see them both coming back, will be huge if Terror wins at Cranbourne to get the Aussie hoodoo off his back.
His aura on returning will be glowing bright for the VIC and Hunter Cups...

Teecee's spruik drew the coveted pole in tonight's Nugget in Perth but Luke McCarthy is no longer listed as the driver.....he was down to drive 3 on the card earlier in the week, but unfortunately he's now M.I.A......wonder why??

One corporate went up the juicy odds of $15 Billies A Star.......I hope around midnight tonight I owe u a couple of beers Teecee.

Hmm, Juicy odds alright Brent, Watched the replay and the horse has a ton off ability, Might have to duck up the local TAB and have a wager on him. I think that I'll go up sooner rather than later because I think that we just might have a replay of last nights Thunderstorms in Sydney and being a tall fella, I might be mistaken for a lightning rod lol.

Nice call Harvey. Had a small bet FFlutter to place (into KDel @ $6.30) just in case u were on the money.....& u were.....easily held them out! Thanks.

Im Corzin Terror looked to finish off very nicely albeit not anywhere within screenshot of the two kiwi champs.

Just looking back at the Gold Nugget.
10 of the 12 starters were NZ imports
Do they still breed horses in WA?

Richard prior
12-20-2014, 11:19 PM
14 or 15 stallions standing in WA Kev but not real sure on the numbers they have bred over there in the last few years, The WA folk do buy a hell of a lot from NZ and for serious coin as well.

WA Still Breed a few..
The big clients and owners spend plenty and buy big numbers out of NZ every year though..

while the big race is on at 7.16
(Beats staying up until after midnight for the Freo Cup as far as this pumpkin is concerned :D)
U should put a pot of coffee on Kev! The 1, 2 & 3 all expect to lead tonight.......belated New Years fireworks upcoming.

No - Kev is a loser again
(but that isn't as bad as his poker loss - after winning 4 big hands in a row he is now 2nd Tournament leader and riding his luck plays J8 and the flop comes J82, he gets the Tourny leader to call his All In - No he did not have 22 but still beat me with AA when the last 2 cards came 55)

With the pre race tactics talk the Freo Cup had all the makings of a great race......turned out to be a bit of a fizzer really. The best horse found the top, dictated an even tempo and cruised to victory @ $1.70. The big loser (apart from Kev with his J8) was definitely Luke Mac......that's a long way to go for your charge goes like a busted arse!
