2015 - your thoughts?

With a new year upon us, let's find out from fellow posters what you would like to see in our great sport in 2015.


Any ideas, or thoughts about what can be done throughout the industry, or any predictions regarding the horses and issues we might be talking about in the next 12 months?

I have long thought the sport is not promoted effectively enough. The Thoroughbreds have what I think is a great promotional show in Bred to Win and Standardbreds have a not so good In the Gig. Imo BTW gives a comprehensive summary of most things racing (Sales stats, sire stats. stud farms and their sires etc. Unfortunately imo ITG is nowhere near as comprehensive. Do not get me wrong I watch ITG as often as possible and only last week saw a segment on Pepper Tree Farm in the best of series. Perhaps this is a new part of the programme and if so I applaud this move. That would be my crystal ball wish for 2015

Exactly right Jim, Definitley more exposure for the Stallions and more Sales/Sires stats would be a great start. BTW is a great show and there's nothing stopping the standardbred people copying this very good show. It would also be a great advertisement to see some of the babies that particular sires are leaving when filming on a farm like Peppertree.

One or all of the states should be pursuing the above idea (and more) through the internet. An expansion on what is being done in NSW. These programs could be generated all week long online rather than relying on one half hour slot from Sky channel.
