I expect Ash to be there with 3 trots races on the program
IMO the Cup field is disappointing - I think if you halve the prizemoney and you still attract the same field

Well Ash if you went there for the sunshine, Stawell would have been a cheaper alternative - 40° today and 40° predicted for tomorrow before a nice 29° for Cup day ;)

Beautiful day and will continue to get warmer
Half an hour out from the first
Temp 22° but only feels like 17° at this stage
(Yesterday at this time it was 38° and felt 32°)
I like Neville Vaughan for the Trotters Cup too Ash

Perfect day here and a great crowd.
Of course I did not have anything on Neville
I did not realize until after she had run and won the 4th at 12/1 that pole-marker Lynden Abbey had been beaten hfhd in tk rec time here at her last start!

The most interesting I have found from a breeding (and performance) perspective has been Kyms Boy - winner of the 3rd. He is way too good for SA racing. He had 5 3yo starts in NZ for 4 placings and as a 4yo now has 3 wins and 2 places from 5 aussie starts.
His dam is NZ champion aged mare Kyms Girl who despite some early probs in the barn has also produced NZ gp 2 winner Here We Go Again

Narra Operative was showing $30 in the cup just before they jumped and the $17 he paid was not bad seeing as though he had already won the Wedderburn cup this month in rec time.

I just noticed that N.Op must have been a frisky young colt before he was gelded as he has a 2010 filly credited to him
