2. For A Reason
3. Arden Rooney
It's going to be a cracking race Kev, Very interesting that Mark Purdon has employed the services of Kerryn Manning, That swayed my selection for 3rd.

For A Reason to lead you would imagine from barrier 2, Philly has to go to death seat??? That'll welcome him to the big time!
Looks a more interesting race for that fact for me in comparison to SA Cup...

I've got it the other way round mate. I see luke handing up to PM and reckon the SA Cup will be a war of attrition with the second fav in front leaving Gauranteed to do stacks. Can't wait for all the big racing this weekend.

Kerryn to jump off Dad's dual Cup winner then?
Not that he's a chance

Remember that any horse handing up does not have a sprint lane (although they often get a clear run here)

I understand how u are thinking Kev but 2700m doesn't strike me as the kind of trip that FAR leads all the way. 2200 maybe, but seeing that it is only a lead up worth 60k, I reckon if Philly Man idles up alongside early he'll be waved on by. Time will tell. I'm eagerly awaiting one of the corps to open a market.

Reckon Arden Rooneys owner may have influenced the decision to go with Kerryn. Merv races plenty with her.

I agree Brent I just wanted to remind people that we are not talking about a guaranteed shot at them for the 3 posn

It's a real good point Kev and makes the race even more interesting.

I'll go...

2 – FOR A REASON
6 – PHILADELPHIA MAN
11 – IM CORZIN TERROR
8 – ARDEN ROONEY

Kerryn probably goes with the Butterworth horse but Narra Operative is certainly flying.
For A Reason is drawn too well and proven at the class. Philadelphia Man has huge X-factor and is the big danger.
Im Corzin Terror is I think underrated. Ran on nicely in last year's Hunter Cup after not getting away real flash and think this could be his year to show a bit more in these big races.
Arden Rooney for the multiples over Bit Of A Legend based on the barrier draw.

Looking forward to a great race. Cracking field.

Little Gumdrops must be some sort of first four hope today mustn't she? The talk is FAR holds the front with a lack of early pressure. $7+ the place looks ok.

Yes she's more than capable of getting in the first 4 and $7+ the place is great value.

Brendan's Daddywho (remember the breeding he highlighted in the Brilliant Names thread)
won the fourth for Greg Leight
driven by Steve Leight whom I thought looked anything but  (sorry Steve)

You should have. Sat parked and put them to the sword.

Should have been 1.7 off the track record too. I was looking at the record from the stand.

Philadelphia Man

Be interesting to see which one Gav drives when he clashes with Guaranteed.

On Ballarat Cup night they were interviewing Gav, I know he is a man of few words but when asked about Philadelphia Man, he sounded like Homer Simpson drooling over a donut.

The cycling from Ballarat was on Foxtel just as I was preparing to leave so I stayed home for both - I can live without crowds nowadays

Hey Rob, what was the crowd like?
Did they have any additional catering there? (Although without a dining facility I think they carefully choose that in between meals time slot)
Did they charge admittance?

I'd go GL to stick with Guaranteed, Nathan on Philadelphia Man
