I am still confused about this one
This was the news back in May

http://www.harness.org.au/news-article.cfm?news_id=26493

and this was the findings

http://www.harness.org.au/userfiles/34/Z232%202015%20Demmler%20v%20HRV%20Orders%20and%20R easons.pdf

So will he still be charged or does he get away with a 200+ cobalt?

No Kev I read it that he has not got off. These are the decisions of VCAT to uphold his appeal against being stood down from training and driving. This suspension was prior to the stewards completing their investigation and laying charges against Mr Demmler.
In essence the VCAT has ruled that cobalt cases are no different to any other and as stand downs prior to laying any charges are not applied across all illegal substance cases then they cant be applied to cobalt cases either. The judge says you cant penalise somebody when you are yet to charge him. There is no suggestion here that HRV stewards no longer intend to charge Demmler should they have sufficient evidence.
The RAD decision to uphold the stewards' decision to suspend was March.
The VCAT appeal decision against RAD was in May 2015 (articles above).
I guess there is more water to flow under this bridge since then.

Further to the above, charges were finally issued by stewards Sep 9 2015 and the case has yet to be heard by RAD.

Thanks for that Tony, and your link certainly confirms he still has to face the music

He has taken over training all Jodi's horses while she serves her three month disqualification from NSW stewards from the 1 October so perhaps hoping his matter is not dealt with until the three months is up.

She has nearly notched up 2 months so our stewards are very obliging

They took into account the two months suspension that he had initially served in determining the length of penalty. What I couldn't understand was that the disqualification period was to commence from the 27 March 2016, I thought that the normal process is for it to commence immediately.

November 28 over 5 days (the work hours that go into the appeals process is mind boggling)

Now to be Feb 20 as

As a result of the legal representative for Mr Demmler not meeting the timetable for the exchange of material, the VCAT have set a new timetable and adjourned the hearing date

http://www.harness.org.au/news-article.cfm?news_id=31501

A handy way to get an extension on your stay - have a tardy legal rep

Getting ridiculous and VCAT should consider putting a time limit on stays

Why isn't Craig Demmler's name on Vic's Suspended Driver's list (subject to appeal)?
