Hello!
I am always looking for golden crosses. A very famous one in the 70's and 80's was the cross between Super Bowl x Speedy Crown, Later at the beginning of 90's it was the very powerful cross of Valley Victory with Speedy Crown mares,
What is the situation today? I think in Europe the cross of the next future will be Ready Cash with Love You mares (or Coktail Jet mares). A famous example is the PdA-favourite Bold Eagle. http://www.bluechipfamilies.com/horsedetails.aspx?HorseID=10169666
Are there any other powerful crosses, you have perceived?
This thread is for pacer too of course!

I think a relative new cross is Cantab Hall x Enjoy Lavec mares.
Famous are the three brothers Pastor Stephan, Father Patrick, Whom Shall I Fear, Uncle Peter, Mr.Chicago, Billy Flynn a.s.o.

I dont know if it will be a golden cross, But Cams Rocket over Veeba Rova mares seems to be very promising, This cross is between a Pacing sire and Trotting mares, The most famous horses of this breed are Googoo Gaagaa and the talented Speed It.

Cantab Hall breeding back to mares from his greater maternal family Rob, A very strong form of breeding.
Can you please explain exactly what you mean?

Sorry for the confusion Sturla, Cantab Hall's maternal family is U1 Medio, The Ken Warkentin mare Prussia for example is from the same U1 Medio family, If you breed these 2 horses, This is exactly what I'm talking about, I think the general term is breeding back into the Herd with both the Stallion and the Filly or Mare coming from the same Greater maternal family.

Fair enough. But this only has theoretical appeal. In practice it is pretty much never the best combination for any stallion. The statistics for Cantab Hall is very clear: this best foals, on average, do not come from Medio. I have attached screenshots from the Sophia pedigree program which shows this (I even converted the numbers to AUD on the second screen)
