Just wondering, if you had a SB mare and decided to breed it to a TB stallion, for whatever reason, how many generations down the track before you could register the offspring as SBs? Merely curious, the thought popped into my head and can't shake it so decided to throw it out there :) :) :)

Depends on the country. In Europe that is not allowed in a single country anymore if I remember correctly. No idea about NZ and AUS

Is not so impossible as you think.
For example the 2times PdA-winner Jamin *1953 was 1/4 TB.

Assuming Dladys was registered in the 1940's Robert - we are talking 70yrs ago. You cannot be older than me

No, I'm from 1965. But to be interested in breeding means, to be interested in breeding history too.

That is different. Those rules were changed in Europe around 1993 I think and you cannot breed like that anymore

You are right papagayo. It was just an example, that it is possible to breed in TB.

That is interesting and knowing that it was possible up until as recently as 1993 has justified this thread

You can still do it in the US where they do not have the same rules, e.g. see the foals of Fancy Starlark.

Sturla, where do I find that without paying USTA fees?
I found this through a google search

theblackbook.com/assets/2013/ped/1454.pdf

which suggests Fancy Starlark's dam is of unknown origin

Thanks Robert but that is very strange. I tried Sophia to search for Fancy Skylark and it did not bring her up

I was using this as my Sophia home page

http://www.sophiapedigrees.com/search/

it looks identical to this page

http://www.sophiapedigrees.com/

but only the second one works

Wierd! Yes, use the second one. Type in the name (or part of it) and wait for the list of names matching what has been entered to display in the dropdown box
