Looks a cracking night in store for Bendigo
Strong "rumor" that Lenny the Shark willl be in the Petstock Bendigo Pacing Cup

and the newly elevated Group 1 Aldebaran Park Maori Mile will be a scorcher give the brilliant times at Ballarat and Melton over the past 2 weeks by the trotters.

First raced in 2010, the Maori Mile has been won by star trotters: Acacia Ridge, Ronerail, My Mon Star, My Escapee, My High Expectations and last year in 2015 by Maori Time in a scorching mile rate of 1.55.6.
They may give this time a shake !

Total Prizemoney for the Bendigo Cup night program is now over $190,000.

He's there in the noms Noel...heads a list of only nine entries so perhaps the others are afraid to go out in the water

Thought that might happen
Bit like last year when Beautide and Christen Me scared the others away, then Beautide reneged. Not much chance of a keen betting race, ut I guess it's not every day you see the reigning Interdom and Victoria Cup champ race on your home track.
The Maori Mile might just be the race !

A few of them gone to Sydney and quite a few open class horses wouldn't be racing Lenny or no Lenny anyway after the past few weeks.

He's definitely a runner. Drawn 5 in a 7 horse field. And needs the run before the Miracle Mile

As Carol said

Great viewing op for people of Bendigo and not all bad for the other 6 runners as 2nd prize would be worth a normal Melton metro win

What are the rules on Hector's Ballarat commitment Wayne?

How fast will the trotters go in the Maori Mile at Bendigo tonight?
Last year Maori Time went 1:55.6 winning the Maori Mile, and has a best time of 1:55.0 at Melton.
What are the chances of a 1:54 and a tick time for the miile?
It's dead calm here in Bendigo this morning, and the track will be well cushioned and fast .
Glenferrie Typhoon? Claudies Princess? or the Kiwi Quite Moment? Or a return to form for Maori Time ...
Thoughts?

as for the Cup, Noel, I like 6 horse races - they can sometimes produce interesting results

The stars of the show at Bendigo last night were Lennytheshark, Glenferrie Typhoon and the lightning fast Lord's Raceway track (and the Bendigo weather as well !!!)

Highlights:

Local trainer Ross Graham and comeback driver Todd Matthews combining to win the first race with Aniimated.
Another local, Glen Douglas wins the second with Trison
Yet another local Gary Donaldson trains the winner of the fourth, Regal Ambition
Rodney Petroff drives the winners of the fourth and fifth races
Hall of Famer scorches around the lightning quick track in 1:52.1 to win the fifth
Glenferrie Typhoon leads all the way to win the Aldebaran Park Maori MIle in a track record breaking 1:54.4, 1.3 seconds faster than the previous record
Smoken Up leads the Petstock Bendigo Pacing Cup onto the track and looks fit enough to compete in it.
Inter Dominion Champion Pacer Lennytheshark warms up for next weekend's Miracle mile by leading all the way in the Petstock Bendigo Pacing Cup at $1.04 to be greeted by a huge ovation from the enormous Lord's Raceway crowd.

A fantastic night of racing and entertainment at Bendigo !

Are you in the Steward's camp Noel - not much praise for Hall Of Famer. Didn't he take a full second off the Track Record? The stewards only gave him a QIP

ps I think there must have been something wrong with the track - only 8/10 favourites won

I think you are right re Hall of Famer, but it wasn't in the stewards report, and I left my race book at the track.

Inquisitive as to the scorching times, I walked the track this morning...there's at least 2cm of topping, as Chris the trackman had the super-spreader out there "spraying" topping on the track about 2 hours before the first race. Much different to what they once did...grading and rolling.

Sure were 8/10 favourites, but Liv Lavish messed up the Punter's Club quaddie, and I'm sure most quaddies at $24.70

I'll appreciate Hall of Famer. Has made my bank account a lot healthier and had him as my best best in the HRV tip off so he has put me in the top 50. His run last week was just as massive. No improved performance its just a bit easier in the lead than what he did last week and the Bendigo track was on fire.

OK Now wisdom with the aid of a racebook.
You were correct Kevin.
Hall Of Famer's 1:52.1 in winning the Travel Centre Bendigo Pace over 1650 Metres, broke the track record by a full second. It was previously held by France Noriega (3/2/12) and Show Me The Bling (25/4/15)

One of our knowledgeable posters told me this was happening - pretty sad. First he landed Lenny now Hector

Unfortunately due to change of ownership, Hector is no longer in the Simone Walker stable. Very disappointing.

A change of ownership makes it a little bit more palatable
