State 472 races for 197 wins = 42%
Metro 212 races for 70 wins = 33%
Country 260 races for 127 wins = 49%

In country Vic she pretty much won every 2nd race she entered horses!
I don't know which is more incredible - that or winning every 3rd race against the best racing at Metro level

In the Metro premiership she trained 70 winners and won by 44
She beat the combined total of 2nd, 3rd and 4th - Aiken, Lilley & Gath

Unbelievable
No runners at the 1st Metro meeting of the new season.
Must be giving the other ordinary trainers a start

Emma Stewart trains half the field in the YV cup on Thursday but David Aiken's single runner should take care of them

Ridiculously good.
This week the stable has had 14 starters for 9 wins, 2 seconds and 3 thirds

After their 5 winners from 6 races at Ballarat last Friday the stable had a quiet night at Melton on Saturday with only 4 placegetters from 5 races
but they have made up for it since having won 6 out of the 7 races they have contested

So they have won 11 and placed in 5 of the last 18 races they have contested
In 5 days they have surpassed what most trainers achieve in a season

Emma Stewart had a big MM night at Menangle and Geelong (winning 5 of 8) but it was only a kick start for March
So far she has had 9 winners from 12 starters (2/3 Mary, 4/5 Ball, 3/4 Cran)

2 seconds at Melton blotted the copy book
but 3/3 at Kilmore tonight keeps the March strike rate
over 70%

With 4/5 winners today the Stewart stable now has a 63% winning strike rate at Maryborough having won 22 of 35 races

That should have been 4/6 at Maryborough
but add 3/4 at Melton
makes 7wins from 10 races contested (and 2 seconds)
= a fair days work

As stated elsewhere Emma Stewart dominated the Vicbred Super Series heats for 2yo's last night
and looking at the odds for tonights 3yo heats at Kilmore she is extremely likely to dominate again tonight

I would love someone to explain it to me
I know success breeds success (owners will want their horses with her)
Are her facilities superior to everyone elses?

I remember when Peter Manning was dominating 2yo racing for a while
It was pretty much revealed/explained how he was training his horses so much harder than anybody else on his hilly bush track

Why is Emma Stewart making all the other stables look like duds? It is Purdon like

Hi Kevin,

It's a little rough to say that other trainers are duds however they are getting flogged atm. It's just that Emma Stewart is a phenomena. Her results are way better than any high profile Thoroughbred trainers. They may be the best in the world.

2 things make her even more amazing.

1. her stats are even better when you take into account her multiple runners. And so her winners / races stats are even better than her winners / starters stats.
2. she is consistently outstanding even when her horses compete and win against horses racing on prohibited substances. i.e. cobalt, arsenic, capsaicin trainers etc.

Congrats to Emma Stewart. She's too good.

I only said 'look like' duds Richard (going for a bit of flair - like a catchy headline ;))

I have always pointed out that Stewart and Purdon's strike rates are incredible due to stats not allowing for multiple runners
What I am really after is an explanation - what makes her too good?

Ok, so generally speaking, the factors that affect performance and race outcomes include :

x - nutrition
x - genetics
x - training
x - drugs (legal / illegal / undetectable)
x - supplements (legal / illegal / undetectable)
x - treatments (e.g. shockwave, accu etc. (legal / illegal / undetectable))
x - barrier draws
x - team driving
x - handicapping
x - tracks
x - facilities
x - driver

We know that Emma has top genetics, training, nutrition and drivers. However, other trainers also have top genetics, training, nutrition and drivers.

I don't think that Emma is helped or disadvantaged by barrier draws, team driving, handicapping, facilities or tracks.

So then how much impact can the the following factors have on their own or in combination?

x - drugs (legal / illegal / undetectable)
x - supplements (legal / illegal / undetectable)
x - treatments (e.g. shockwave, accu etc. (legal / illegal / undetectable))

And so your answer might be within these 3 other factors and may be legal, illegal or undetectable.

Thanks Richard - that is a comprehensive answer

Watching Alford dominate again tonight - he may be worth a couple of %

Victoria trainers won very little!
Trittons had a winner as did a Kiwi. David Jack originally from NSW. Geoff Webster originally from SA. Aiken originally from NSW I think.

If you have an inkling as to how many winners the Stewart stable will train tomorrow night - you can bet on it as Sportsbet has a market out

Exactly 8 winners is the fav at $3.30

Gavin Lang's return to training has seen him 'Stewartesque' with a Strike Rate of 46%

(Stewart is only at 40% at present BUT she does have a few multiple starters)

You cannot beat her. Emma has her $1.20 fav play up but she still Quinellas the 2yo Colts Vicbred final to make it 3 Gp1 Quinellas for the night so far

Had 4 favourites at Melton tonight $1.60, $1.30, $2.30, $2.30 but 2 thirds was all they managed

Chris Alford was not on all of them but had a very quiet night for him - not one place-getter from 8 drives
