Can anyone tell me if there are any horses being worked at Fairfield? I notice they still trial there. Do you think this is just another nail in the coffin.

Last meet happening as I type. What has brought about its demise? No longer required with Menangle nearby?
If you look at the bottom of its page in Clubs and Tracks
You will see that just 14yrs ago it was
"No 1 Provincial/Country Track TAB Sales 2002/03"

The council have reclaimed the land apparently, the horse stalls and stand moved there from long closed Sydney gallops tracks will also be demolished.

A 63 year history of the Trots at the Showground has ended as Fairfield joined the "Ghost Tracks".
This what will happen at the site (see the diagram in the link), and basically work on the redevelopment was slated to commence the next day after the final race:

There were around 600 patrons for the swansong and the Fairfield Club officials are to be congratulated for their efforts over the years to keep the track going despite all the odds.
