I am certain owners of pacers going around at Geelong tonight for $3990 to the winner (HRV being to mean to chuck in another 10 bucks to make the total psychologically better) will all be scrambling to stump up 100 grand to get a start!

Memo to HRA - you exist to protect and improve the lot of harness racing participants, not compete with the AJC. Otherwise, you risk alienating your roots to cater for ambitious blow-in silvertails. Fund the Inter-Dominion properly instead of allowing it to be treated like a distant relative shuffled between nursing homes. It is the ONLY race the sport has that is recognised by the bloke in the street that doesn't follow racing.
