Good ole Luxury Liner dies

I remember I was just a teenager in Oamaru when Luxury Liner was doing the business up north for Roy/Barry Purdon and Tony Herlihy.

It saddened me heaps when I heard of his passing this month - so I decided to write the following tribute to the grand old 30yo.

I'll never forget what he did for harness racing in the mid to late 1980s. RIP.

One of the true greats. I remember him on several occassions being headed in the final straight and fighting like a tiger to reclaim the lead and win. A punters friend and champion horse. RIP
