Country Race Meetings

I had the pleasure to attend Maitland on Saturday night. I must say that there is nothing better than a warm spring night at the trots, reminded me of going to the trots with my late father when I was a child.

The only down side to the night was the half and hour line to buy a bucket of chips and only 2 tote windows open. There was a great little crowd but really the services put up were inadequate.

It was the only downside to a great night and hopefully the club can get it right next time.

I am looking forward to some spring like weather down here to do the same myself Boydy. In between time I make do with lovely sunny day meetings at Stawell where they dont even charge you to get in and even provide free cuppa and biscuits ! They get a reasonable crowd - admittedly at 58yo, I am below the average age LOL
