Looks a cracking night in store for Bendigo
Strong "rumor" that Lenny the Shark willl be in the Petstock Bendigo Pacing Cup
and the newly elevated Group 1 Aldebaran Park Maori Mile will be a scorcher give the brilliant times at Ballarat and Melton over the past 2 weeks by the trotters.
First raced in 2010, the Maori Mile has been won by star trotters: Acacia Ridge, Ronerail, My Mon Star, My Escapee, My High Expectations and last year in 2015 by Maori Time in a scorching mile rate of 1.55.6.
They may give this time a shake !
Total Prizemoney for the Bendigo Cup night program is now over $190,000.
Lenny and Glenferrie Typhoon star at Bendigo
The stars of the show at Bendigo last night were Lennytheshark, Glenferrie Typhoon and the lightning fast Lord's Raceway track (and the Bendigo weather as well !!!)
Highlights:
Local trainer Ross Graham and comeback driver Todd Matthews combining to win the first race with Aniimated.
Another local, Glen Douglas wins the second with Trison
Yet another local Gary Donaldson trains the winner of the fourth, Regal Ambition
Rodney Petroff drives the winners of the fourth and fifth races
Hall of Famer scorches around the lightning quick track in 1:52.1 to win the fifth
Glenferrie Typhoon leads all the way to win the Aldebaran Park Maori MIle in a track record breaking 1:54.4, 1.3 seconds faster than the previous record
Smoken Up leads the Petstock Bendigo Pacing Cup onto the track and looks fit enough to compete in it.
Inter Dominion Champion Pacer Lennytheshark warms up for next weekend's Miracle mile by leading all the way in the Petstock Bendigo Pacing Cup at $1.04 to be greeted by a huge ovation from the enormous Lord's Raceway crowd.
