When are they going to name a few of these people ????
Tyson,
Since it is being investigated by the police those who are facing criminal prosecution will not be named until they appear in Court. It then becomes a matter for the public record.
Those who are dealt with by HRNSW can be named whenever Sam and the crew wish to, however, given the complexity of the inquiry and the police involvement it will be some time; I wouldn't be holding my breath.
Regards
Mark
Playing on an even playing field will be a relief
Feel for the corporates cant imagine how much they must get hammered by betting plunges because of inside info that dont get seen in TAB figures
they'd have to take a bet first before they lose
besides they only offer fixed odds on metro and even then you'd be lucky to get on
Are you saying that bookies decline some big bets?
I have backed with 4 figures before with no issues though never to 5 figures
As Ribbon Of Light mentioned, we all have our checklists and we all know whom the majority are.
The whole thing about this situation Tyson is that it is bad. and its ugly. This whole deal is like a spiderweb, all leads, lead to many people, and before anything can be mentioned the authorities must 'un-ravel' the web before anything can be said.
As the days go on, its getting worse and worse.
I would love to see these people be named and shamed, but we must feel confident that Sam and the Authorities are doing the best they can, to investigate and do the right thing by us, and out beloved sport.
Gtrain, Corporates are an utter joke!
I am no big punter in anyway, I would label myself as a '$50' punter, and I have done very well over the past 2 seasons with the AFL. I have been sent a letter only a few months ago, telling me that they will no longer accept my bets on Sport. But I can feel free to bet on racing . :O Go Figure.
They all run under the sames rules.
1. You Loose
2. They Win
What do people find the best corporate to bet on the trots with? I cannot get any of them to bet me best tote, has anyone else had any luck?
Gtrain,
I think we are all asking the same question?
If you are prepared to loose... Then ANY :D
gtrain try tom waterhouse havent had an issue yet
It seems the real scum bags are in here with their gutless comments.......
crawl back into lucky lodge hopster
Haa... Im not defending anyone. It not unusual for gutless scum like you to bag people in this type of forum and not identify yourself. But thats not uncommon from low life gutter trash.
The only one copping a bagging on here is Morris jnr and he was found GUILTY.
I fail to see the problem with that, he is fair game.
Fair enough to defend someone that has been falsely accused but the only scum here is Morris Jnr.
Wow Hopster , you are really are showing your colours now. Please crawl back under your rock. There might be a few more of your friends already under that rock, and a lot more to come!
Attachment 42
It's so obvious that this person , Hopster , shows himself in this and in other really pathetic forums posts today that he is attempting (very very unsuccessfully) to portray those that are outraged by the current harness industry investigations as being the real culprits. Those that are about to be outed for their dishonest scumbag and bullying tactics and practices over many years are supposedly the real victims. Huh!!! What a joke.
Expect to see more stooges like this posting. The tone of Hopster's posts gives you a good laugh anyway , they are so ridiculously transparent and pathetic.
It will just be good to put some faces to the setup races. How many of us will be able to sit back and remember geeez that races was strange. I will get great satisfaction out of a race when i see that my horse ran 2nd to a drugged up donkey and it took a drugged up donkey to beat him.
Fellas, given recent revelations I'm just as angry as anyone and right now I'd wager a fair bit more than most because it goes completely against my nature to sit cold & say very little or nothing about what we all know and suspect in relation to the people involved in this sordid affair, but at present...with the NSW Organised Crime Squad involved... that is exactly what we all have to do.
Not that I'm about to defend any one of them either...but it's worth remembering that there may well be TC02 +'s etc. on that list that are in fact in no way connected to the wider investigation, them having simply occurred at the very worst of possible times for those to have scored one.
I've great confidence that justice will run its course and that the bastards who should pay for their deeds will ultimately do so in one form or another. Of course, should the unthinkable occur and that does not come to pass then given the level of restraint that we've all been asked/expected to show up to that point... I'll be amongst the first to organise a Pitchfork sharpening.
Heard a name today. Really, really disapointed. This is shit.
Sure is mate, sure is. Every time I think about it I feel ill.
It is getting to the stage where you dont know the good guys from baddies and when that happens everyone has a question mark over them. Not good for the industry. The names that have been told to me shocked me initialy as they are the top names in the sport.
The reason why no body has been named just yet in the corruption scandal is because authorities have nothing on any of them.
Yes some trainers or drivers in question may have the discraced stewards numbers in the phone records but there is no crime in ringing them as may be for change of tactics etc.
Reid Sanders and his panel jumped the gun and have absolutely nothing and will be made too look like idiots, the money that has gone into this will cost sanders and others there jobs when finally it comes out that they got nothing.
Tell me this, apparently they have pictures of Mitchell Reese handing money too Bentley. And they have already named a couple others as well.. Why are these people still aloud too train and drive horses???? Because it's all hear say and they have proof of nothing.
Harness racing in nsw are ran by spastics
Between you & I & the gatepost Harness29, however severe that any sanctions they may choose to impose ultimately are...and with all due respect to these fine gentlemen...it's not Mr. Sanders, Mr. Gleeson nor Justice Haylen that those involved in this sordid behaviour should be concerned about right now. In the overall scheme of things the wrath of HRNSW is likely to be amongst the least of their worries.
The NSW Organised Crime Squad/Strike Force Tairora however, that's another matter entirely.
They're the 'true believers' of the NSW Police Force. They play for keeps. The meer fact that not very much at all, if anything, has been heard from them thus far is in fact an indication things must be proceeding very well indeed.
I expect the hearts of many of those involved must skip a beat or two every time there's an unexpected knock at their front door. Ain't life just grand sometimes?
VVV.... I heard a rumor the other day that the NSW police force is in fact dropping the case because after viewing evidence they believe they have nothing too follow up on.. They think HRNSW jumped the gun by going public and taking action and if they involved them earlier they would have nailed them..
Not sure on truth about it tho
Thanks Mark. Given the relative speed with which 'justice'...and I use that term loosely...has been 'served' in the past as far as Harness Racing is concerned, I'm not at all surprised that many people have begun to read into 'we haven't heard anything' as being 'nothing is progressing' or 'they don't have enough evidence' or 'nothing is going to happen'. As you'd no doubt appreciate and probably more than most, justice as it is dispensed by an Australian Court Of Law... and justice as it is via the various sanctions, suspensions, fines and numerous other measures that are dealt out to transgressing participants by Harness Racing Stewards...are about as alike as Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil, as for that matter are the respective investigative approaches of Stewards Panels and the NSW Police. The Rules & Regulations of Harness Racing are one thing...the Law of the Land is another. Each has a very different burden of proof for starters.
[VVV] G'day Steven. Hope against hope is an incredible thing. No doubt whoever the dastardly deed doers are that are pushing that line think that if they say the same thing often enough for long enough then they'll be able to pick up old Toto, click the heels of their Ruby Red Shoes & they'll all wake up safely back home in Kansas with Uncle Henry & Aunty Em. It ain't gonna play out that way. No somewhere over the rainbow here.
For sake of the sport I hope it is cleaned up, harness racing has a dirt name as is without this
Seen this article in the SMH the other day and thought it should be brought to your attention.
"In the ruling, there was interesting evidence from regulatory manager Reid Sanders, who said there had been a frustrating attempt to obtain CCTV footage. ''We have spoken to [two outlets about CCTV footage] and we have gone to retrieve it and it has been deleted, so you draw the inference that it has miraculously been deleted for whatever reasons,'' Sanders told the appeal."
I find that more than a little curious.
In NSW many Pubs & Clubs are required, as part of the Licence Agreement, to have CCTV footage of the entirity of their trading hours & to archive and if asked produce said footage as required and deleting such footage would find them in breach of their Licence.
The Pub business being what it is Liquour Licencees are well and truly aware of their legal standing in this and all other matters and reading between the lines here I strongly suspect that legally HRNSW are not able to compel them to produce the footage, whereas the NSW Police or a Court Order would be able to do so. If that were to happen I reckon it's an even money shot that, like Lazarus coming back from the dead, there would be a nothing short of miraculous re-appearance of the footage. Someone would all of a sudden 'find' it in a PC file somewhere.
I have worked in the security area for a number of years now and I can assure you the footage will still be obtainable. I would love a dollar for everytime a client/company/organisation has told me the footage was destroyed. In the old video days it was possible now with digital.....impossible.
Well sorry to rain on your parade but all you have to do when you fill out the CCTV registration form from NSW police is state how long your Image Retention Period is IE how long you keep them before deleting .The police or lincense DONT tell you how long you have to hold the material and no law says it either but its recommended 14 days for any court material that may be needed.then again if i choose to hold it for 7 days thats my decision.
if you doubt me then go to Level 10B, Police Headquarters, 1 Charles Street, Parramatta NSW and ask because thats where you get your CCTV registered before use or you are in deep trouble if you use CCTV and ist not registered with the police.
UMMMMMMMMM how much space would be required to keep lifelong footage of every CCTV
Ahuh. As I said, if instead a Police or Court Order was made to produce said footage I'm sure that somehow it would be miraculously retrieved. Greg, you seem to be rather upbeat at the prospect that the venues concerned apparently have not complied/failed to produce/claim they do not have the footage required by HRNSW. May I ask why?
Today's Daily Telegraph contains a story quoting one key industry figure, unnamed, that seems to contradict the statement attributed to Reid Sanders in the SMH!
"But there are believed to be concerns key CCTV footage of suspect betting activity - both on course and at other venues including pubs - would be revealed. Key industry figures said revelation of this information could compromise the investigation: "If a suspect knows they've got film coverage of their activity, they can concoct a story to cover whatever they are doing," one said."

I wish that something would start to appear to make sense as several people I talk with are already getting pessimistic that it will all be swept under the carpet because some big names in the industry are involved. Without knowing who is involved, it is hard to know what to say because I believe that it is too big to disappear, this is one elephant that isn't going to leave the room until the room is forcibly vacated. (Pun not necessarily intended :) )
