I guess when you have a 2yo debut like that it will make the drive easier. Wasn't looking like that out of the gate though!
2 wins for Craven so far and has fave in the last.

It was a pretty impressive debut alright Breno

Ben Yole is having a quiet night this Friday at Hobart, with only 19 starters, with 8 in the 5th race.
Already he has amassed 1,547 starters this season, nearly double that of the next best trainer, KerryAnn Turner (NSW) with 778.
Just incredible!
I can't say that I always look at the Race conditions too closely and wondered if the following is something new and whether it is a common condition
* Restricted to trainers who trained no more than 25 winners in the 2016 / 2017 racing season.
I presume Kev it is related to this:
"There will be a total of 724 races programmed in May and June, of which 110 will be $5000 races with the $1000 bonus. Of these 110 $5000 races, three will be restricted to trainers who trained no more than two winners in the 2016/2017 racing season, and a further 44 will be restricted to trainers who trained no more than 25 winners in the 2016/17 racing season. For these (44+3) races, a trainer must have lodged a valid stable return at least one month prior to acceptance time for each race. The remaining 63 races at the $5000 stakemoney level and the other 614 races programmed in May and June 2018 will not have restrictions based on the number of winners in the 2016/17 racing season"

Thanks Dot - sounds good
Coming in late here Dan but I was sent this
HRNSW provides for the following:
- A driver may claim a concession for (the term) five years from attainment of an initial B Grade Drivers Licence or the driver reaches the age of 23, whichever is the latter. (The term will end at the conclusion of the racing season with respect to each of the above scenarios.)
- A driver may claim a concession until he/she has driven 250 winners.
- Drivers who have not driven 50 winners during "the Term" may apply for an extension. Should a driver not win 50 races during the Term then they will receive a two year Term Extension.
The Term Extension will end upon whichever of the following occurs first: a) a driver wins the 50th race of their career b) at the conclusion of the 2nd racing season of the Term Extension
A 4th and 5th year seems very generous for some who have started driving 100 winners by their 3rd year
Bling It On retired he was a nice little horse
My understanding is HRNSW make the fields for the open class races at Menangle based on noms received. May be an explanation for it but that doesnt make it right that Ultimate Art didnt get a start in the feature.
Philadelphia Man returning as a late 9yo after more than 2½ yrs off (he has had 2yrs off before)
Having its 24th start for its 6th trainer (a family connection to the owner had 2 goes) Always Flashing won R1 at Melton today by 44m
Do you think he might stay in the McDonough stable now?

RWWA trialing increased gate speed at despatch point to test for a reduction in gallopers in the score up and after the start.
http://www.harness.org.au/media-room...?news_id=37483
Curious does anyone know what the despatch speed is in other states, and if this should be uniform or adjusted for the track? Whilst a reduction in gallopers is obviously highly desirable I am thinking the increased speed would also see an increasing advantage to being drawn an inside gate, and if the data obtained will/should also be analysed for this.
Races 7 & 8 from Shep last night are well worth a look

I was supposed to go to Horsham trots today but after leaving a plug in the sink of the upstairs bathroom last night AND the tap 'running', I have spent all day ripping up carpet and drying floors etc etc
Then if things couldn't get any worse I just checked out the results
The following snip was an email from a couple of days ago and would have compelled me to have a little flutter
A 'running' double would have to be it

There are 11 races at Maryborough today with the first starting at 11.11 !
There is only one number 11 going around for the day
R10 No.11 Myrtle Vale is my omen tip (& has form) for the meet :D

And got the bickies Kev albeit at $1.40.
Hi everyone,
In a separate forum, and possibly in this one, HRV have been asked to provide a live list of concession drivers (as opposed to just publishing it in the Harness Racers). Fo those interested, please refer to the list now available at:
https://www.thetrots.com.au/for-part...ssion-drivers/
Cheers, David
I reckon it has been a while since Geelong had a meet with 94 runners

TV news story from the Gippsland Harness Training Centre
I think Craig Rail missed this run (and subsequent 2nd win) as he did not include him in his Form Analysis or first 7 picks for R1 at Cranbourne tonight.
The fields market had him at 8/1 - he paid 2/1

I wonder whether 3yo Shadow Chevron had a change of ownership or simply a change of trainer - he certainly found another leg and was only 0.7 sec outside the Shep Tk Rec when recording his first win today
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#SPC04071807
Watch the run - he certainly didn't have the easiest of runs and yet bolted it in
Correct Breno, Norm’s grandson
I reckon Noel might be in his museum under the horse rugs at Bendigo tonight
At 6pm it was only 4.8° and felt like 1.8° :(
For the interest of anyone with one of these units, there is a message on their website which says that
"Magic Breed ceased trading on 30th June,2018.
All repairs & servicing will now be attended to by the manufacturer of the product."
I have the address and contact details for that manufacturer.
Is it OK to post those details here?
It would be appreciated Graeme and I will then make it a thread on the Breeding forum so that it is easier for people to find
This has now been done folks so if you own one of these alarms jot down the info now found in the Breeding forum - thanks Graeme
I noticed a 3yo first starter at Hamilton is from Princess Cassi. The mare's name is ringing a bell with me - Richard? Wayne?
2yo Heir To Zanzibar raced in the 8pm at Kilmore last night and then in the 10.30pm at Mildura tonight
A car might do the trip in under 6hrs but not with a float behind
These were his 3rd and 4th ever starts. Why would you ask that of a 2yo?

Intransit racing at Melton tonight Rich!
He is a warhorse - not had a spell for well over 2yrs
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#MXM28071802
Away on a short holiday at the moment and had $50 on Intransit at 10/1 fixed odds, Told my buddy we would go halves and got the chocolates lol
I reckon the breeder deserves more :D
I agree Kev lol
Tasmanian trainer, Ben Yole has now cracked the 2,000 barrier for starters this season and is #1 in Australia.
Currently sitting on 2,007, which is quite an amazing statistic when compared to the rest of the Tassie training tier!
When you consider how few races/meets they have it is an incredible number
He could become the SOLE trainer for the state with TasHR overseeing operations as a way of maximizing integrity :D
As I have said before why Western Australian horses bother to go to that s......e state of Victoria to race is beyond me. I'm Rockaria barrier 7, Mandy Joan barrier 7, Our Angel of Harlem barrier 11 and now barrier 7 in the 3-year-old fillies final. Far too much of a coincidence to be true. "Visitors draw'' a euphemism for rigged draws.
