Menangle could have the Bong!!!
I don't know about the Sydney Morning Herald and this story could have originated from there
Urine sample match triggers trots drug-testing scandal
but I read it on their sister paper The Age website and it really pees me off that The Age never writes about harness racing except when there is a negative side to the story
You cannot call that balanced journalism can you!
Maybe it came from the SMH and maybe they sometimes have positive stories
The pools tell a huge story.
9 & 3 harness.
42 & 13 gallops.
AARDIE B MIKI NZ. This is a GOOD horse.

Pity the horse didn't buck him off & kick him in the guts!!!!!
Greyhound racing in NZ will end on July 31, 2026
Now think about the outcry over Trish's story above.
Those who think whips in racing don't have to go, other than being carried as a control tool, should really think about whether horse racing can survive the general public's expectations on animal welfare
You would think it should always be safe when Rodeos (!) are permissible but who knows
NZ just banned greyhound racing, terrible for those involved and the dogs.
If this were to happen in Victoria it could be a big win for Harness racing. I know it's a terrible way to look at it but we need this. I know they will come for horse racing next and we will be an easy target but it could be our only hope for the sports future .
I mentioned this in Odds and Ends Rick and that 'easy target' could just be a target if we got rid of whips
I can't see greyhound getting the chop in Australia as there are 58 active greyhound tracks in Australia. The NSW Government tried a ban, and it failed miserably.
By comparison, the United Kingdom has 21 greyhound tracks, Ireland has 17, New Zealand has six, United States has two and Mexico has one.
58 is pretty much what the USA once had Steve. It will be of little consideration when the government comes for them. It will be the influential billionaires that are most important to the gallops
