Is it as simple as Mach Dan sits outside Honolua Bay 18th Nov and beats him.
Honolua Bay then goes undefeated, with Mach Dans only defeat coming at the hands of Act Now.
Act Now of course beaten home subsequently by Mach Dan, but look at the runs and tell me who the best run was.
I really hope so.
I think Honolua Bay was a tad off that night at Melton though.

All you need now Brendan, is for Act Now to draw the front with another fast beginner/non threat - to get his back

It does not mean much until we see the barrier draw tomorrow night

You hear Adam Hamilton on TrotsVision saying we cannot be rigid in thinking about the Inter format - citing the fact that we are not attracting all the best horses
Maybe Adam should consider the prizemoney decline as the possible reason for this
2022 Melton $500k
2021 Menangle $500k
2020 - Covid
2019 Auckland $500k
2018 Melton $500k
2017 Perth $1.1m
2016 Perth $1.1m
2015 Perth $1.3m (December)
2015 Menangle $750k (March)
2014 Menangle $750k
2013 Menangle $750k
2012 Perth $1m
2011 Auckland $800k
2010 Menangle $1m
2009 Gold Coast $1m
2008 Melbourne $750k
2007 Adelaide $500k
2006 Hobart $1.5m
2005 Auckland $750k
2004 Perth $500k
2003 Christchurch $500k
2002 Sydney $500k
2001 Brisbane $500k
2000 Melbourne $1m
1999 Auckland $400k
Yes, you have to go back to last century to find the Final run for less
$500k is not exactly standout 'grab the public attention' prizemoney
Is the list above actually symbolic of our decline?
The rot started in 2018 (Melton's last Inter)
Part of David Martin's balancing the books?
Did he leave us in a better position? Sometimes you have to spend more on Big events to have a profile which then ends up paying for itself
Although the funding method is controversial, I guess this is what the Eureka is attempting to do (at the expense of the Inter?)

You have to be pretty happy with that Brendan

Justice has been leading on Mufasa Metro. Although I think he would be best served handing up to Majesteuso, Justice really rates Mufasa so I don't think he will. Queen Elida will run him down if thats the case. Think I'll be playing an Exacta Queen Elida to beat Mufasa Metro. Saver on a quinella Mufasa/Majesteuso
Pacers has me nervous. Act Now is so close to victory. Not saying anything newsworthy but its really down to Act Now and Honolua Bay unless something out of the ordinary were to happen. Good feeling to be on both prepost at massive overs, given size of result though I'll be cheering Act Now. I do put Honolua Bay on top though because he has option to not burn as hard early but still be in running line if lead isn't there.
Mach Dans drift has been too marked I feel, out to $13. Long distance gives him time to come into the race. Think he is still a fair chance to fill a place. Narutac along the fence also gives Stewart trifecta claims.
Louis is shot with that speed inside him and Ego will have to do it too tough.
I Cast No Shadow after its heats surely hands up, went putrid when leading. Only a month ago beat Honolua Bay at Menangle so has fair claims on the race too.

TAB Fixed
Honolua Bay $2.50
Act Now $2.40
Sportsbet
Honolua Bay $2.70
Act Now $3.20
Sportsbet make TAB look very mean
-
Expensive Ego has been well supported today
TAB $11 into $6.50
Sportsbet $9 into $6
I cannot see how he gets a cheap enough run to win
